The Oracle (Spirit/Storm) is still fairly powerful. It's always been one of the top builds ever since the game came out, though it also has always been squishy. It's about who kills the opponent first, you or the monsters. :) Personally, it's too twitchy/squishy for my taste, but I do play a lot in duo games, so it's a bit harder.
I don't have a clear opinion on the Conjurer (Spirit/Fire), especially after the changes to Earth mastery. It's one of the builds I plan to try out soon, especially since I found that the Core Dweller can tank really well in epic act4 and early in legendary (didn't get further yet with my summoner, got distracted by the HC achievements), though only after a heavy investment of points (base skill and two of the synergies).
I personally like the Conjurer because it is flexible (staff/spells/pets) and has a nice theme to it.
Oracle is very powerful as well, if a bit squishy. Dream has better defense.
And Mandrake confusion on a triple AoEs is just silly against most regular monsters, even at halved chance. Especially if you add traps to the mix. Warlocks like to have sadistic fun with the weak. :)
You dont make choosing easy for me ^^
Is a diviner (who probably uses mainly vitality damage) still viable in legendary difficulty boss fights or vs undead? If I read the patch notes correctly the resistances vs vitality damage were buffed a lot, with no way to lower them.
I had one years ago and he was really fun to play so Im thinking about it.
Its the same with a warlock, trash mobs are probably no problem, but what about bosses on legendary?
Im only playing TQ a few hours a week with a friend, so I want to prevent finding out in legendary that my build wont work any more.
Undead should be no problem with Spirit Ward & Bane. You don't have to use vitality staves as a Diviner, and even if you do weapon switching is a thing.
And you alrady have two anti-boss tools in Spirit itself with the Lich and Outsider.
The only other "boss killer" skill I see in the others would be the Nightmare's gaze, which now works like a second Soul Blight against single targets.
But all masteries have ways to help whittle bosses down. Traps, Eruptions... and Spell Breaker helps a lot against many champion and hero monsters with nasty abilities.
I would just go with the one you like most, really.
definitely not a no-death build, but still fun nonetheless.
