Spell Breaker...what's the point?

I have maxed out Spell Breaker. I use it to strip bosses of all their energy. Yet, they are able to cast all their spells. How are they able to do this? I have seen this on Typhon and Fafnir.
Am I wasting my skill points by having it in Spell Breaker?

it wrecks enemies with high mp and doesnt req many skillpoints...dragon liche i seen is very vulernable to that and having very high mp actually gets them killed...also enemies that love onslaught or annoying moves do get shutdown when you use this and storm is so squishy that any amount of shutdown is a good thing...

and ya having 10k+ mp on some enemies is a good thing as spellbreaker and add on does a ton of damage to them for very low skill point investment

it also breaks negative effect on you like slow or poison

it breaks the reflect damage aura of some enemy which is very annoying

It is the SKILL Spell Breaker, not the CLASS Spellbreaker.
The skill is a skill from the storm mastery that attacks the enemy's energy, hindering them to use skills, or you can use it on yourself to cleanse yourself from some debuffs.

It is really effective against mobs, i'm just trying to understand how certain bosses can still cast all their skills after I've wiped them clean of energy.

I can't tell for sure but maybe some of their spells cost no mana?

ya more then likely they have moves that cost no mana but you can mana burn them with spell breaker and prob take a huge chunk of their health away...its not a bad move even if enemies cheat by using 0 mana move sometimes.

i have no idea esp since the ppl prob wont hit -100% energy costs though its possible to get the costs low on yourself pretty easily as a warfare toon with battlestandard buffing you giving most of it...but ya i do think the enemy cheats somehow as even with repeated spell breakers, the enemy continues on like nothing happened though the damage they recieved mighta killed them or hurt them a lot..
