Thanks guys that helped. Had to go into big picture mode to access steam input options but there was i was able to select just gamepad and now it's working.

Prior to that, I was getting the mouse pointer in the middle of the screen and it would only pan around in the middle of the screen, and the xbox controller buttons wouldn't show up, it would display it's equivalent controls from the keyboard.
I have same problem with xbox controller.
how to fix? do I have to select gamepad at templates ? Also , do you use steam input on? Because I was able to play public beta with controller even with input off.

The problem that you also have appears when I turn input on.

@AcE.w0w firstly, i'm using an xbox one controller and in regular steam view, i go into steam settings and then controller and have set desktop configuration to disabled.

Secondly i go to general controller settings and enable xbox configuration support, and also xbox extended features support, and also generic controller support is also ticked on.

Thirdly, I go into Big Picture mode, i go to library, select Titan Quest Anniversary and go to manage game. Then i go to controller configuration and there i select browse configurations and select 'gamepad'. I then loaded the game from big picture and my xbox one controller was working as it should.

I then exited big picture and ran the game from regular view and the controller was working as it should. Hope that helps! :)

Just switching to "gamepad" in Steam like what others already mentioned worked for me. I didn't have to do anything else. I'm using an Xbox One controller.

I like the controls and the UI changes for gamepad play.

Thank you for this info! Gonna have to give this game a go again now that I know I can use my controller. I love PC gaming!

To be honest (and sadly) i think there are a lot of xbox controller owners who are playing the game with emulated keyboard and mouse via a controller, and just assume the game has poor quality controller support. It's a shame because it isn't the case, the controller adaptation is actually pretty good.

It is very good, in some ways quite a bit better than console controls imo

I'm having a heck of a time trying to get the controller working with the game. The UI in the game changes when I hold the left trigger but swtiches right back when any other button is pressed. The mouse cursor can never move outside a little invisible box. I followed this...

Not sure, that's pretty much everything i did. It is an xbox one controller you're using isn't it? Is it wired or wireless? Mine is wired.
