Transfering local saved characters to another laptop

Hello there. I was wandering if I could anyhow transfer my local saved character from my old laptop to my new one even though my old characters are not saved to steam cloud. The saves are still there but I do not know any way to do it. Thank you.

Copy your saves to Documents\My Games\Titan Quest-Immortal Throne\SaveData\Main
They should show up.

Even if the characters have the same names? I mean, will it work if some characters in my old laptop have the same names with some in my new one?

the way copy and pasting works id assume it would overwrite the save files with same name? ive never had to do this so im not 100% sure

How do I transfer my saves from my old laptop to the new one? how do I back up the saves of my old laptop without having downloaded the game in the old laptop?

There are tools that can rename your builds. Rename the builds you have, on your new computer. Then copy old saves and put in the directory. I believe TQRespec can rename your builds.

So, to sum up, I have to turn on my old laptop, copy paste my local saved characters to documents/.../main and that's it? I should have noted that the game is not downloaded in my old laptop but steam is.

Well, there won't be a save location for your saves if you don't install the game.

You can also now just enable Steam Cloud, since the latest Steam Cloud update it now works with this game.

That is how I do it, and it works fine. I use an external hard drive, but there are a number of ways you can do it. Copy the folder and paste it in the new computer. It should present an option whether you wish to overwrite or not. If you happen to have started new characters with the same names, you may need to decide whether you like the new characters or want to replace them with your existing ones, or I guess you could rename them.
