Gate to Medea's Grove locked by quest

In Legendary on one particular character, I cannot advance. Even after defeating the guardians outside of Medea's Grove, the gates to Medea's Grove are "locked by a quest" even though I have the quest "find the witch in the Ixian Woods" in my quest log.

I haven't played this particular character in a very long time, so I assume the file is corrupt, unless I missed a step in the quest somehow.

I've already submitted a bug report at the developer's web site, but thought I would post here just in case someone knows the answer.

It is possible that you are barking at the wrong tree :). I mean knocking on the wrong door. On the path that leads to Medusa there is a gate to a secret passage that unlocks with the Overlord item. The gate to Medusa is somewhere near to the Lighthouse that you helped/will help lit on a side quest.

No, I know which gate as i did this quest at different difficulty levels and recently on another character. I know the gate you're talking about, and it's much closer to Rhodes.

I'm at the gate to Medea's Grove, the one that has two guardians you're supposed to kill to get in.

I'm not sure what you mean by "gate to Medusa." If you mean the Lighthouse, I already did that side quest.

Sorry, after checking I realised that I was off topic :). You are right, the gate to Medusa is after the Ixian Woods way beyond the beach i was talking about

Please replace Medusa with Medea :)

The weird thing is that I just did this same section of Act 4 with a lower level character in Normal difficulty.

My highest level character is still stuck at this same place. Can anyone help me? I must have messed up my savegame somehow.

If you've killed the two tree monsters (1), the first door opens and you can talk to Medea (2) to open the second door. Otherwise your savefile is corrupt. Backing yor folder OFTEN ('C:\Users\XXX\Documents\my games\Titan Quest - Immortal Throne\SaveData\Main') is mandatory. Or at least, those folders with the name of the characters you're playing.

Possible solution is to join a mulitplayer game. Ally with someone in act 4 that can make a portal just past that gate. Use their portal and then continue on from there.
