There should be a future patch that will have some fixes and will bring controller support, but no one knows when will come out. I suggest to get Atlantis when is on sale.
Atlantis is not as good as Ragnarok imo and not really required. It's more nice to have if you're a big fan of the game.
Atlantis adds an optional act that can be accessed outside the starting town of Act 4 or from the graveyard in Act 5 town. It's basically an alt leveling area and is often referred to as Act 4.5 because of this. It's basically a long mini-quest, the act isn't too big and the quests only give reward experience which is pretty boring. There is one exception that rewards a relic for I think Torso that has provides a retaliation affect.
Unlike Ragnarok, Atlantis does not include a new mastery but instead increased total mastery level from 32 to 40 and added two additional lvl 40 skills for each existing mastery. TQ is perfectly playable without these. However, the extra mastery points can help with building hybrid characters. The extra skills are a mixed group, some are merely okay, some are great additions and others allow for new build alternatives.
Atlantis adds an arena mode and a Gambler. I haven't really bothered with the arena. I may be mistaken but as far as I can tell you need to clear several large rooms, then fight a boss. At this point you can open a chest for random loot or keep repeating this again to increase the loot % of the chest. Seems much slower than just farming the hell out of the big bosses for loot.
As for the Gambler, he serves as a cash dump, selling you orbs which you open that explode for loot like Telkine orbs. Unfortunately, I believe the orbs can only drop lower act loot, Ragnarok and Atlantis loot does not drop. Also, it's totally random what you get so you can't gamble for specific item types. I would have preferred if it worked more like Diablo or Torchlight's system where you gambled for specific items instead of a random loot explosion.
As for loot, Atlantis seems to have some pretty interesting and well optimized items. Drop rates are pretty bad throughout and I hear there are still tons of bugs with boss drops. The Atlantis legendaries that have dropped whenever I have decided to take a run through it have been pretty nice but very sparse. Spears drop way to much compared to everything else because seemingly every enemy is equipped with one. The new Tinkerer fix is cool, it doesn't provide any base bonus that lets you equip two charms / relics instead of one (DO NOT USE IF YOU ARE USING MOBILE VERSIONS --- IF YOU HAVE A CHARACTER EQUIPPED WITH WEAPON WITH 2 CHARMS IT WILL BRICK THE ENTIRE GAME UNLESS THIS BUG HAS BEEN FIXED). Atlantis relics / charms are largely kind of meh I guess. Most of their affects seem pretty meh compared to existing ones.
TLDR - Atlantis is not as good as Ragnarok but nice to have if you're a big fan of the game. The additional features aren't as good imo. I mostly use it for the extra mastery points and skills. I'd suggest waiting for a sale if you want to buy it.
thank you all for your lovely comments, I appreciate that
