Question Sep 22, 2021 @ 11:01am
Are bosses supposed to be immune to stun?
I keep seeing all these posts saying they are immune to stuff like stun, but I'm not seeing it...i can stun the act 1 normal telkine for example.

Bosses and heroes can be stunned, even Typhon can sometimes if you use a Skies Rage scroll. Telkines are quite easy I always found. Some bosses are easy.

What you might find difficult as you progress through the game to more difficult levels are some extremely tough heroes.

You can always check here for the types of resistances etc different bosses and monsters have.

edit: wrong link above, that is just for Typhon. Correct link below:

That wiki claims that bosses have 1000% resistance against all forms of controls including stun which is clearly wrong.

What I've noticed is that i can stun, root, slow hero monsters. I can't seem to stun bosses or root them in place.

The devs back in 2018 bought in them special resistances, but do not believe everything you read, as: "well the boss have a very short stun duration, using a sky rage scroll can stun typhon for a while due to rapid stun on single target".

"epic and legendary boss are almost all immune because there are no epic or legendary sky rage scroll for the rapid stun effect. normal scroll of sky rage don't really work on them either. "

Extra to what I have posted about using Skies Rage, is that if you can "mana burn" them, remove all there energy the stun will last a little longer.
As far as I know there are no skills that can do "that continuous thunder" which Skies Rage does.

Is this a change present only in ragnarok or atlantis? Becase with the anniversary edition only, i can stun bosses just fine and in the files, the act 1 telkine only has a 80% resistance against stun for example. I do not see any signs of a stun immunity.

Anyone?

This is basic Stun resistance of Typhon, and just like any bosses, he has more Stun res from Bosses resists database:

Um, so is this a ragnarok or atlantis change? Because without those expansions, bosses are definatley not immune to stun.
ninakoru Sep 23, 2021 @ 4:48pm
Are you playing the base game? All bosses have stun immunity. There's a passive property all bosses have, that grants conversion immunity and by the way extra immunities: all CCs and slow. They have 1000 in each, and there's no cap in monster resistances, unlike player's

Im playing the anniversary edition but without ragnarok and atlantis.

I am NOT seeing this "stun immunity" at all, and neither do i see it anywhere in the files using the modding tools. I can stun the act 1 and 2 telkines just fine.

For example these are the stats for the act 1 telkine retrieved from the files : https://i.imgur.com/EAaz5VV.jpg

You will notice that he doesnt have 1000 resistances or anything like that.

Where are you seeing their 1000 resistances?
ninakoru Sep 23, 2021 @ 5:05pm
Heh, check out at his skills: Records\Skills\Boss Skills\Boss_ConversionImmunity.dbr (1;2;3 correspond to the skill level at normal/epic/legendary), it's a "passive bonus", then checkout that skill properties. You're welcome.

Thanks for pointing me in the right direction, i see what you mean now.

Pull up your secondary stats to see effect resistances and you can work out how things play in regards to strategies that affect different heroes, bosses and occasionally unit types (very large IT campaign monsters), if you can't net, there might be another source you can pull from to stun, else the high resistance might just make it shorter than it would be normally.
