Oracle - Ternion build with supportive spells, probably the best Ternion build for starters.
Conjurer - Ternion build with more offensive spells, imo would be harder for beginners cuz it only utilizes fire staves, while oracle is okay with both cold and lightning.
Soothsayer - either lazy petmaster or pet + Ternion.
Spellbreaker - dual wield build that sustains himself through damage to health conversion.
Spellbinder - a viable but pretty dull shield build.
Bone Charmer - typically it's a bow build, personally I would go Ternion with this one as well, although can't guarantee it'll be better than Oracle (probably not)
Diviner - technically one of the strongest late-game ternion builds that could rival oracle easily, the problem is it requires a rare staff that only drops in Act 4 Legendary difficulty, the game is pretty much over at that point. If you don't pre-farm the staff then don't bother.
Warlock - weird one. An interesting but certainly not very strong class and not beginner friendly. Stay away if not sure.

Hope that helps you make your choice.

honestly, that doesnt really matter. just go check the shops for an "of fire" or similar green staff regularly. socket a prometheus flame with further +%fire and you have a great staff. you dont even need a fire staff if you get a nice bonus.
earlygame before you get any beefy summons one of the most fun tactics with it IMO is to run into a pack of monsters with deathchill+ravages, insult them all, then drop a big fat eruption under your ass.
anyone who doesnt blindly run in to get blown up eats ternion.

I don't know, because I haven't played Diviner up to high levels. I'm just damn good when it comes to extrapolating my experience.
There's a very stylish Carnus set that is specifically for Diviners, but imo this one only shines if you get all pieces, which includes a staff, and you would want another one. Also, gloves do not provide attack speed, and you really need attack speed gloves with ternion build. I woudn't use boots from carnus set as well if I had Demonskin Walkers, which are probably best int-based boots in the game. Coincidently, they also drop at Act 4 Legendary.

To be honest, don't expect the right gear to come at you. It's much better to build a character that does not require specific pieces and is good for farming. In case of Spirit it would be Oracle or Spellbreaker or maybe Spellbinder.
