Is there a way to create a good retaliation build ?
Hey !

I always wondered if there is a way of creating a good retaliation build and after a while I think Dream/earth would be the best, in the dream mastery you chose the trance which reflects dmg and gives you %dmg converted to health and in earth there are a lot of skills that give retaliation dmg

Guess most of it needs to be done with equipment and relics

Anyone has experience with it ? Would love to hear some other ideas

Templar might work as well, Dream's Trance of Empathy & the top level buff of Defence's Rally both give % damage reflection. Don't know if it would be a viable build these days but a friend had some success with it back in the TQIT days.
You'd want ~40% CDR to keep Rally on continuously.
Even if the damage reflection build isn't viable all the way through to Act 5 legendary I can attest to a more hands-on Templar build being a solid class for legendary difficulty.

Thats a nice idea, thanks!

Guess quick recovery will be very valuable in that build too

Yeah a Templar is the best way to build a retaliation character, try to get as many + to all skills items (such as Stonebinder Cuffs) to maximize the damage reflected and try to get Athenas Mirrored Shield which adds another 40% - 50% damage reflected.
I tried this with my Templar but to be honest, the damage you do by yourself with your weapon is far superior than letting mobs kill themself by their own reflected damage. Sure kinda helps when fighting multiple mobs that attack you from range so you don't need as many hits for them but you could just got for a "full DPS" build instead and kill everything with one hit anyways so... it's kinda playable but there are better ways to play a Templar.

Ok yes that makes sense, most enemys don't survive combat all too long anyway

this is doable, but early game its very very slow
dream defense is the only good way i think. best reflection and some good added survivbility which u truly need.
never got mine to legendary got a burnout and then throwing weapons came so finishing that cha ris on backlog.

just realise till the pint the reflection is awesome u need to whack most stuff, but!!! later its get very powerfull the reflection. some good items and maxed reflection form the skills. jsut dont forget u need to live aswell:)

Okay thanks for the advice =) I believe you it starts out as a slow build

I just realised that I have some nice legendarys that would be great for this build, like Certha's Plate (cooldown and reflection) and Bloodthirst the Glutton (life leech retaliation and dmg converted to health)
