Spellbreaker
My spellbreaker (warfare/spirit) is lvl 46 and I am making my way through Ragnarok with her now. Her dmg output is awesome but she's a little squishy for my tastes. No deaths on her so far though but a lot of close calls.

I am thinking of fully speccing Ignore Pain and Dodge Attacks. Are they worth it?

I am dual-wield spec'd as well. Shield seems pointless without Defense mastery.

I really like this toon. Any tips on how I can just build her defenses up a bit would be appreciated.

I finished legendary with my spellbreaker (before ragnarök and with the six player difficulty), so I think I know a few things about it.

I HIGHLY recommend you find yourself an "of harrowing" weapon and stick an anubis relic on it for attack damage to health. this synergises with certain skill making your weapon even more powerful than it already is. the best you can do is 15% health reduction on a fast/very fast weapon.
on dual wielding vs shield, shield is better IMO. you do not need need defense at all to make shields work. it also frees up a ton of points from the now useless dual wield tree.
if you havent yet, max deathchill and upgrades, these are essential.
try finding +skills gear. this increases deathchill radius and effectiveness.
one point in outsider for bosses.
for the warfare side, doom horn works together with deathchill to make its health reduction effect even stronger, allong you to AoE even the toughest of crowds senseless. also stun, which helps you survive.
and yes, get ignore pain and dodge. especially dodge.
oh and death ward lets you cheat death every minute with 80% CDR.

Thank you. Those are some really helpful suggestions. I need to do a bit more testing around on my own and see what feels right for my play style. Thank you for providing me with your experience.

Im just finishing ACT IV on legendary with my spellbraker:

I have dual wield skill fully maxed because with this you maximise the hits and thus the effects of damage to health, life leech is also good.

I prefer wepons with the suffix "of devuring"or (earlier on) "of feasting"..they give you a high amount of life leech and dmage to health.

Im invulnderable in close combat with this. I also have the -da,ge to undead maxed, because undead need to be killed fast, as the deal damage, but have no life to leech.

I also have the horn and the complete tree of necrosis (and the others) maxed...thts very important, as said before.

All in all, its one of my strongest and most fun chracter after nine years of play!
