so how do you upgrade a legendary item?

apparently that is a thing you can do now, as it is an achievement.
but how do you do it? and what does it to? can you only do it to legendary items?

There is a side quest in Dark Lands called Legendary Craftmanship, you won't miss it, the map also shows a big hammer over the npc's head. I have not finished it yet, could not find the Mead of Poetry, if anyone know where is it please feel free to tell me, thanks

oh, so you probably cant actually upgrade legendary items, you just get the achievement for completing the quest. maybe some fancy loot too.

Obviously, after completing the quest the NPC will upgrade for a fee any Legendary you offer up (i would assume).......

I upgraded my legendary armor but achievment still locked. I think it's gliched. And you can only upgrade one item per playthrough

sorry to say, but that seems a little pathetic for a single use thing.
all you gained was a bit energy, energy regen and armor. that and it shuffled the item seed. it also raised requirements which is a bit of a detriment.
might be nice for your absolute favourite legendary, but otherwise it feels really underwhelming for a whole new mechanic.

It likely needs balancing but their not gonna give already powerfull items huge boosts :p

I found the forge too, i think its a great idea if THQ Nordic make it worthwhile. Maybe they could add some special stats to legendarys something that actually makes using it a point. Like giving legendarys random bonus effects, thinking of Torchlight 2 here. It'd mean in effect its an enchanting service for legendarys where players would hope to get good rolls on bonuses.

Well yeah thats not a bad idea either but maybe draw the line at rune words hehe. Its not the horadric cube forge.

It'd change the game in a number of ways, including trade cause players would hang out at forges running servers trading off legendarys.

alright, finally got the quest done. got some info.
you can upgrade both epics and legendaries.
on upgrading, your items get affixes. level requirements may rise due to those.
the affixes seem to be random, but fitting to the item slot.
upgrading an already upgraded item rerolls the affixes.
