Question about getting experience points/leveling.
I'm level 13, about 25k left until level 14. My question is why does they game take forever to level? I'm playing on normal mode. Do you get more for higher difficulty, or is this by design?

It seems like it's endless grind killing just to level.

Levelling in TQ is slower compared to many games. Yes, you will get more XP on higher difficulties, but the amount you need for the next level also increases as you progress. Don't expect to reach max level in the game with a straight playthrough; that unlikely to happen.

Thanks. I'm getting bored with the grind, I don't mind some here and there, but this is to much. I'm at the part where you gotta kill the Gorgons, and they are several levels higher than me, and I can barely do damage. So I gotta grind several levels or not play the game.

First that's how games like these were designed back then, kill everything you see, grind, grind and grind some more.

Second if the Gorgons are a higher level that means you've skipped some stuff. The way the game is set up and you have to play it is treat each map like a lawn and you're the mower. Just go back and forth across the map killing everything you find, don't skip any part of the map. Go into the caves too.

If you do that you'll finish each map at the level you need to be to start the next map.

It took me 3 times of buying the game and then selling it and then buying it again before I finally completed the normal play through because like you I got tired of the grind. Set it aside, play something else and then come back to it generally works the best.

I've been grinding hard for hours on this game now just to defeat the final boss on act 3. When I got to level 36 I thought it would be a doable fight but then find out that I need to get Vitality Resistance to defeat him which I have none off which then again means I need to farm and grind demons to get demon's blood.

I've been grinding demons for 2 hours and I've got no demon's blood yet so I've decided to quit the game for a while and play Grim Dawn instead.

I get to the gorgons at level 14 going on 15 by not so much grinding but just going everywhere available on the map. They are harder with some classes than others but should be doable around that level. Make sure to eliminate Euryale first because otherwise she will just heal her sisters.

Typhon represents a surprising difficulty spike the first few times you meet him. The Tsongmo ice caverns are a good place to farm demon's blood. Should be able to get probably around ten completed demon's blood in a couple of hours there. I farm a couple levels there for that purpose, which also has the side effect of putting me at level 34-35 instead of 32 when I get to him.

Things also go faster once you're more familiar with the game. My most recently character got to and killed Typhon at level 27 or something, never having to stop to grind anywhere. Probably depends a bit on your build too of course but I wouldn't say mine was particularly good.

TQ is pretty slow in normal. Things pick up later. However, TQ also has an exponential leveling system so getting to max level is super painful. You don't need to actually do this through; level is not hugely important in TQ, gear and skill are.

if you want to level faster you can always try a mod. I think there's some mods that boost exp. xMax also helps for leveling a lot (because there's extra enemies so extra exp lol)

I don't think you should really need to do much (if any) grinding for the sake of leveling. Just explore the map, complete quests and clear what you find should be enough to keep you leveled.

The only thing you should be grinding are big bosses for loot or for good monster infrequents.

I'm the swordsman class with the defense as my second specialization. I explored everything and killed all mobs, but this extreme grind isn't really fun.
