Generally the big bosses (Telkines, etc.) are best to farm for epic and legendary items.
Act 1: Hydra (Legendary), Telkine, Talos (Epic+), Boar Snatcher (Epic+)
Act 2: Manticore (Epic+), Telkine, Sandqueen (not as good as previous but it's they're all pretty easy to get too from waypoints if you run past everything)
Act 3: Dragon Lich (Epic+), Typhon, Telkine
Act 4: Hades, Secret Passage
Act 5: Maybe Fafnir or Loki. Last boss doesn't really drop anything good. Dark Lands is okay as you can easily get to the Warlord boss and the flower boss from waypoint. Otherwise there is Primrose Passage.

For other items like MIs (monster infrequents) or charms/relics you'll need to farm the specific mobs that drop said item.

Act 1 Boar Snatcher may be most efficient based on short distance from fountain and % legendary/epics that drop. I just farmed there for 30 minutes and got 6 legendaries and 2 epics. In probably 24 runs as I spend time sorting things and selling off greens.

They ranged from 39 req level to 52. Small sample size but others have done more runs and get similar results. I finished my battle mage set there just now with the head gear.

Typhon. Legendary Passage. I can't comment on Act 5 - still in AE w/o Ragnarök.
