Those items are likely Ragnarock-only tiems. But they decided to add them to the base game so non DLC owners can look at them and get ticked off.

If you only own base AE w/o Ragnarok, then you shouldn't get Ragnarok items in your base game loot tables. Period.
"It's for multiplayer." Yeah ok 1. multiplayer is an exception, not a norm and 2. from what I've been reading, Rag and multiplayer aren't cooperating anyway.
Nordic can say whatever they want, but anyone with a brain knows this is meant to tick off people who haven't bought Ragnarok in hopes it compels them to.
Let's look at it like this:
There's a good number of us who received AE for free, since we were owners of the original TQ + IT. That's how I got AE. So those are people who Nordic didn't make money off of. Which was fine, because now in hindsight, we see why they did that; makes us all happy over a polished up full package that we got for free, then hit us with DLC later.
So now, this is how they are going to get their money. Not that there's anything wrong (a corporation wants to make a profit?! God forbid! lol) but the way they are doing it is asinine.
By and large, any games that have DLC that introduce new items will not force the DLC items in to base game content. It HAS happened, but it's very rare. I have been gaming since the early 90s (longer, but before that doesn't really count much), to include many an aRPG and many titles with DLCs (once those became a thing), and this sort of thing rarely happens.
If it didn't throw off loot tables and vendor slots, then whatever. But it does. Any chest I open in base game content that drops a Rag only item is a wasted drop, and Nordic knows it, and they hope it makes me buy Ragnarok.
And you know something? I was going to buy Ragnarok. Until I read reviews. And then it became apparant to me that Ragnarok was rushed and done lazily.
So lazy + rushing + throwing off base game loot tables = unabashed cash grab.
No thanks.
That is not the point at all.
Shame, TQ and TQ:IE used to be my favorites. Wait. They still are. Becuase I can still play the original THQ made games, and ignore this one. :)
Fair enough, but one has to wonder why you're still here fanning the flames everytime this comes up?
I get it, you work for them, so you have to act like "everything is PERFECT". For those of us NOT getting paid by Nordic... it isn't perfect, by a long shot.
GO back and search ALL threads for reports of issues with the quest involving the Eye of Chaos dearie. I am not the only one who has reported it, many times.
1) I'm not getting paid, I'm a volunteer moderator. The reason I'm admonishing you is that you derail the thread everytime you bring this up. I get your critism, it's a valid one. But not in every single related thread. The devs have stated their reason for the way things are and have said that it's not an ideal solution. You may see ulterior motives, but that's your opinion and not necessarily fact.
2) 1) is also the reason why I'm not going through your post history to find bugs you may or may not have posted. Post them in a thread as a direct reply to me or as a general reply/thread. Cool if you send them to Nordic directly that works too, but that's out of my hands. Also, I'm not deleting stuff that isn't rulebreaking, I have no personal interest in removing your posts if they don't break any rules.
