Is that considered to be a cheat?
Loot isn't exactly "reliable", predictable, or "steady", in this game. Hades' Treasury is among the top places to hunt amazing loot, but problem is, you can only loot the place once... Unless you back up the save files and replace them, allowing you to loot again! Say, if you:

a. Back up save before completing that quest
b. Loot it, find great item, use transfer stash to get it on mule
c. Replace files to make place lootable again
d. Rinse and repeat until you are fully geared in top notch items

Is that considered to be a cheat?

Ah, that Legendary Craftsmanship reward is BAD... Besides adding a new stat, it also changes the other pre-existing stats of the rare item... Like finding that item anew and with randomized values to its stats. Every time i tried that, the end result was an item with one new property and all old ones, lowered significantly.

The original stat lowered because the upgrade also change the item seed, also the new affix added is pure random and some affix is more common that another.

Thats why i think this is not cheat, because if you want a specific affix with good item seed you must be very lucky or very patient because if you exploit this you must spare many many hours just for 1 items. for me it is not worthed.

Btw when upgrading, my thunderer got shoe with "Mountaineer’s" and "of the Mammoth" affixes. I think i must be very lucky at that time. lol

It depends how you are looking on it, for me its not, its just an exploit of the game and it is time consumming.

Time consuming? How? For a mere few seconds, you do something that needs an entire difficulty mode to be cleared...

More or less: you are just getting more gear faster. It's dishonnest, but I wouldn't call that cheating. The real cheaters are those who wanderer some fuzzy textures and OP swords.

....100% cheat.....

i dont think it is cheating, it is an exploit because you use the game weakness for put the save game in your computer. this exploit also can be applied to legendary upgrade sidequest so you can make all your legendary gear upgraded with best affix.

but still, all of those exploit is time consuming. you can waste your time 3 hours or more just to get a perfect affix for your gear and for me it is not worthed. better for me to enjoy the game exploring and killing monsters.

That's something i didn't know. Please tell, what is the item "seed"? And if i do that alteration more than once, will the item worsen more?

It is cheat because you are supposed to be able to use the Hades loot only once because it is the reward for completing a side quest, so by using this method is like you are completing the quest multiple times without spending the dozens of hours necessary to complete this quest normally by playing the game as it is supposed to be played.

Item seed is an unique ID for each item (not only epic and legendary). this ID will make sure each item has different affix value even the item you have is same. if you use TQvault to store your items, you can see your item seed ID when you hover your mouse to each item.

I have tried multiple times upgrading my legendary gear, i believe the result always balanced. if 1 affix value is decreased, another affix must be increased. for example i have shield with +93% vit resist, +20% bleeding resist, and +45% elemental resist, after upgrade the vit resist down to +73% but the elemental resist increased to 56% and bleeding resist increased to 29%. so the missing 20 point is just like "moved" to another affixes.

note: instead farming hades vault multiple times for loot, i recommend you use xmax mod, 6 player difficulty mod, or other mod for farming in the workshop. it is more fun (but can be harder).

if you do use TQvault, you should be aware that upgrading in fact does not change the seed. but the added affixes change how the game processes the item with its seed, therefore changing the stats.
I have no idea if just upgrading does "shift around" stats equally, but if you change the seed of an item, there are clearly better seeds than others that simply have more of everything. if you were to try every seed for a particular item (good luck with that), you might even find a best seed that has the possible maximum of every stat (which seems to be very roughly a fifth of the base stat over it).
