Troll King
So I'm stuck on the side quest The Golden Sickle. The problem is when I get to the King Goldtooth boss my build just cant seem to get enough dps to kill him before he regens. disengages, threeshots me etc.

My character is a Level 41 Hunter/Nature build focused on Marksmanship from hunting and the pets/regrowth. I specced into plague for Sciron back in Corinth and haven't really found a better active . I also put 1 point into call of the hunt since i got a legging with +1 to it, as well as all the wildlife I was running into.

If anyone can offer some strategy/tactics/advice or build tips to get me looking in a better direction I would really appreciate it.

I got through the Troll King recently with a Ranger too, and he was not too easy but I got him the first time. I have three wolves (with two pieces of gear that are +1 to Nature skills) with just a few points in their upgrades, and I have lots of poison damage on my bow and rings. I didn't even notice that he regenerates maybe because of the poison damage but maybe I was just too busy shooting and running and keeping the troll king plagued and highlighted with the Study Prey skill. That brings any resistances he might have way down and then you'll be doing some damage to him. You might try a magic scroll too if he's still too tough.

My strategy when I was using a Intelligence-based character was to maximize Defensive Ability. All of his attacks appear to be physical, so equipping items that give +Defensive Ability or +Dexterity helped my character stay alive. I'm not sure if that helps with a Ranger build in particular, unfortunately.

In general, if you haven't tried a scroll, try using one! They're easy to forget and useful late-game.

Most of my points are probably in Marksmanship and wolves, but next it would be those two skills and the one that's a buff for damage and vs beasts (level 44).
