Typhon on Normal
Are there any easier ways to beat the normal Typhon? Have been fighting him melee with my Warden and it just will not work. With my Conqueror I ended up killing him with a bow on the stairs, but this seems not to work any more. Am not a very experienced player but have my resistances (Vitality, Lightning, Life Leech) relatively in order. It’s gotten to a point where I’m losing interest in the whole game, a pity since I’ve really enjoyed it a lot but it makes no sense if I cannot proceed.

Pick up some scrolls from the Trader; Golen, etc.... to use on him to help you out.

You should be fighting Typhon on Normal with a level around 32 - 36. Is it your case?

If your resists are truly in order, it shouldn't be that hard to kill him. That being said, warden is pretty weak as a starting class, as neither of the trees have good powerhouse skills to push you through normal. What's your damage look like? And your HP and Defensive Ability? Especially for a melee character, DA is going to be important. Luckily, you have Wood Lore in Hunting tree. Make sure this is maxed. You might also want to get a bit more DA from gear (Insulated Ring of Endowment will give both Elemental Resist and Offensive or Defensive ability, and are easily farmed. Vendor often sells them, too).

Make sure you have at least 1 point in Study Prey for the resist reduction. If you are invested into bleed (for example, with Gouge or Eviscerate), it will help to have points in Flush Out as well. You should at least have maxed out Shield Smash, as well. Depending on how many points you have in Defense Mastery, you'll want to pick up Disable as well. I'm unsure if Typhon has armor, though I'd venture to say he does. If that's the case, and you have the spare points, invest in Rend Armor (the modifier for batter).

Warden has lots of Defensive Ability, but does lack Offensive ability. That might be a stat you need to prioritize on gear/charms/relics. And ultimately, if you don't have a good weapon (and to a lesser extent, a good shield), you're going to struggle with damage. It *might* be worth farming an Ichthian Harpoon depending on your build, but a word of caution: the item is rare as hell, and the bleed damage is going to do nothing against a significant amount of enemies in Act 4. That said, it's a Monster Infrequent, so you can put charms/relics in it. Alternatively, you can just farm the Telkine before Typhon for a while. He'll drop a decent Epic weapon eventually, if you're OK with using a weapon without a slot for a relic or charm. Or, perhaps even easier, just vendor farm a green (or even a good yellow) weapon and socket a Peng Claw in it. That should be more than adequate damage, and Peng Claws are easily farmed on the Great Wall.

Good luck against Typhon.

Shen Nong on weapon might be good even if not a poison build for the resistance reduction/hit. Monkey King Trickery on jewelry might also for same reason.

Easy ... peasy. Get up to 80% Vitality Damage Resistance and 60% Fire Resistance. Get boots to move fast. Stay away from lightning shots, but that is easy, just stay behind a statue so it doesn't get through, and run away from his boulders. Also don't attack him when his spikes are out, that reflects damage to you. Then take him down slowly with ranged weapons by running in and out.

Standing on the corner of the steps with a bow doesn't work anymore.

It's virtually imposiible to get an Icthian Harpoon now. You are lucky even if you get a sickle.

Yeah, true. There's no real reason to try and farm it on normal. Probably better to pick up a rare spear at a vendor and throw some charm on it. Or, hell, abandon spears for the fight and just get a Sabertooth and put a peng claw in it.

Oh, and a major thing I forgot to mention about the Typhon fight, OP. He has a reflect move that you have to watch out for if you're melee. When you see him grow spines all over his body, stop hitting him or you'll end up killing yourself.

I can't really recommend anything, because I like farming in this kind of game, A LOT! Which means I'm way overleveled for this guy! But I've recently beaten (and farmed a bunch of times) him with my Conqueror. One thing I've noticed is that the shrines surrounding the battleground are really helpful! In particular, for my Conqueror, the Battle Marker and the Shrine of Mastery! Get those and you hit a lot more!

Also, if you use skills that have long cooldown, such as Colossus Form for exemple, and that they are on cooldown, you should wait for them to be ready before jumping into the battlefield. Get everything to your advantage, you know?

Also, yeah, avoid his skills, some can be heavy-hitters!

Pretty much all I gotta say here. Good luck!

what is your skill set? can post the titancalc here?

get the rage of sky scroll, when the thunder effect finish, use the collosus, keep ur buff up whenever possible. you can take some point out to push up collosus for the moment and back to ur utility skill later.

Yeah, for the first walkthrough, the "normal" Typhon is probably the toughest point in the whole game. I remember that with my soothsayer (nature+dream) I needed 50+ health potions and the fight lasted about 30 minutes. Now I am able to finish the "legendary" Typhon in under 10 seconds, if everything goes right (and no, I am not using the Sickle). I have never had so fierce fight like with the "normal" Typhon again, not even far into legendary.

The suggestion from people above are good. Get a decent vitality resistance and don´t let Typhon heal from you. Run from his fiery boulders. Don't hit him when he has his spikes out (you will harm yourself). From the scrolls, probably the Scroll of the Sky Rage will work best, but if you want to rely only on scrolls, one will be definitely not enough, you will need more, probably at least three. The shrines are only a little help, because on this difficulty, you are not able to fully exploit their effects.

Thank you for the advice everyone! Finally after 8 deaths (!) my level 34 Warden managed to beat Normal Typhon with the help of green rings with Demon’s Blood gifted to her by her Epic Conquerer colleague. None of the Scrolls were any good for me in this fight (well the Cyclops did divert Typhon’s attention for a while, though really not long enough), but the 80% Vitality Resistance and 80% Fire Resistance with full hit-and-run-tactics finally did the trick. Still not very happy about the balancing of this game - yet to meet anything even close to this toughness level on Epic - but happy that the rest of my Heroes don’t have to stay on Normal because of Typhon.
