can I change my secondary class?
So I started with the Spirit class and when the option of a secondary class became available I picked Warfare, thinking early on I was going to be a melee character before later realizing that i like using the terrion attack and long ranged attacks. so I just want to know if there is any way to remove or pick a different secondary class as now I feel like Warfare is somewhat pointless for my build adn I regret picking it and dont want to sink in another 100 hours on a character

No, you cannot reroll your secondary class, but you can always just try something different with the one you have and make another class more the way you had in mind. Games like this are about trying out lots of builds, don't think of it as wasting time. Just roll with it and have some fun. Good luck :)

Dang. I dont mind trying different classes but I usually don't like to try the same class twice in these games unless its like D2 where you pretty much have to sink all skill points in a single attack to have an effective character so it takes a bunch of trial and error characters. I have a few lvl 1 characters im using to for storage and eventually Ill start using one of them for something besides storage. Might do Earth next possibly. Thanks for clarifying for me though. Much appreciated.

there are some chars that play out very differently if you go int or str...good examples include dream+melee char like def or warfare...and petmaster champion and warrior champion with nature backing it up req completely different stat spreads for example...

though pure classes usually have 1 set build like elementalist and couple others, though even pure builds can end up different like dual wielding conquerers who add more dex or sword and board conquer who focueses more on surviving fights and thus adding more to hp and str..

and theres things like the slayer who can go weapon master slayer who uses spears and bow and switch between thoes at will and is dangerous at all ranges and dual wielder slayer who gives up the versitlity of weapon master and goes all in glass cannon dps close range, both req completely different dex spreads esp since bows req so much dex and the other build prob wanting more hp so they wont die so fast..

and that is just a few examples where the same class req different stat spreads and might warrant having 2 or more of them..

for your class you can go int build tension attack and use things like battle standard and the summon from warfare to add more on to the tension attack build..or you can go the str build and use deathchill and liche to back up the warefare stuff and wreck things at close range, i do perfer the str build, it does insane damage, has a tanky summon, deathchill works so well at close range, and warfare is among the highest dps in the game though its quite squishy esp if you want to dual wield.

still can use ternion and invest into battle standard, war horn and ancient

unfortunately there is no redistribution of stats point from int to str but ternion warfare is still viable

ya if you want to stick with staff...spellbreaker should still work but you'll be focusing on tension attack, liche tree, hp into mp tree, outisder, deathchill tree, and maybe couple disables like vision of death...and from warfare you'll prob grab summon ancients, war horn tree, and def battle stadard while leaving things like onslaught and dual wield at 0...

and ya since staff cannot crit you'll prob also leave battle rage at 0 and weapon training at 0...it will still work as battle standard with massive amounts of cooldown reduction is really good and war horn stuns like crazy and does max hp% damage and mages generally get their skills back really fast if you have recharge cooldown -% so you'll have those all a lot more then the str ver of spellbreaker..with 50%+ cooldown reduction you'll get both of those back so fast esp war horn which you can use to lock up enemies and drain their hp if they arent immune to max hp % based damage and point blank tension atk them for 3 hits while they cant move

most of your points will prob be in the spirit tree and quite a lot of the good skills there costs a lot of skill points so you do have a lot of things to level up and warfare does give decent hp and dex resutling in more durability and battle standard esp in epic and legendary keeps you alive with the damage abosrb and the liche will benefit from it too in normal mode its hp isnt very good but lv10 battle standard in epic and beyond it surives just fine..it will work most def but you'll leave a lot of the warrior trees at 0 but thats not a bad thing as at least you can spend skillpoints elsewhere..you prob will cap out much faster then other builds too since most of the warrior stuff doesnt work with staffs...

your int will def be lower then double int masteries but you wont die as fast due to battle standard and the repeated stuns...and you can more safely tension attack things to death in bosses tension should kill them still and battle standard still offers up a 36% damage absorb which effects you and the liche but you wont be able to stun lock bosses with warhorn.

with a battle standard and circle of power, you can reach -98% energy cost, 100% life leech and 48% cast speed, 36% damage absorption, and triumph -40% enemy damage.

it is like a godly cannon blasting everything while enemy damage gets reduced, anything gets near will be affected by the deathchill and you can warhorn them for stun.

as long as you don't face tank the barmanu or typhon meteor or hades death circle, pretty much very good even on legendary.

not tension, it is called ternion.

on the topic of spellbreaker, melee spellbreaker is great. max +4 deathchill is devastating and synergises greatly with harrowing weapons. add an anubis wrath relic to your weapon and you will steal life like crazy.
oh, the fun times I had with mine. and no, you dont NEED to dual wield with a spellbreaker, I would even advise against it. DW tree eats up too many points you can invest in other places and makes you even squishier than you would normally be.

on the topic of respeccing, you cant do that ingame beyond skill points in skills. there are however third party tools to use like defiler, but some people see those as cheating.

i hope they add the ability to reset stat points i mean its not like you are reseting masteries which will cause making new chars pointless...and make it so you can only do it maybe 1 time per difficulty like diablo2 made it so 3x max....but idk it does force you to start over a lot if you botched the stat gains and the only thing you can do in compensation is make accomplished heros to skip most of the early game which is most of the game...

I'll have to fire up TQAE here pretty soon and check out all the recommendations. I appreciate all the info! Last time I played I had just finished Normal so I still need to see what the next difficulty is like and I haven't tried playing online yet either. Still so much to do haha

well epic you start to see purples and they are flat out gamechanging compared to all those blues you saw and enemies start to do a lot more dps to you so the better gear def starts to make a difference and pets get a boost to their health on higher difficulties too...

and ya spirit synergizes with all the other masteries in the game and its one of the highest dps masteries in the game that gives the best pet in the game as a bonus...so you def can salavage your char even if you love tension attack and are giving up warriors onslaught and dual wield trees...

spirit was the best mastery in the game pre aniversary due to harrowing mod on gear working on everything even bosses but some are immune now, but a staff with the harrowing mod and maxed deathchill tree still lowers enemy resistance to damage to max hp if they arent immune...so you can still kill a lot of enemeis with staff shots just not everything will be effected by the harrowing mod but the base damage of staffs when multipled by 3 is still good..harrowing should be on your staff all the time starting from epic onward, its still good just not broken op good..

liche will serve you well, hes def the best pet in the game, healing himself constantly, has inssane dps absorb when you level that addon, lowers enemy resists, and has very high base resist and immunity to some of them due to being undead...
