Vision of death
Lately I have been playing a pure spirit character and I had decided to max out vision of death to try it because I had thought it is a garbage spell.
I have found out this spell is really powerful and it can be said it works like a stun with extremely long duration. A downside is when there are more enemies or when enemies are not next to each other only like 2-3 enemies can be sent back (with aggroing). Small radius and long duration fear make this spell extremely good agains groups of about 5 enemies but underwhelming against larger groups.
That said, I don't see any use of fumble attacks/impaired aim nor reduced damage. Those numbers are high(except reduced damage) but enemies are running away most of the time.
I feel like this spell would be more potent with increased radius even slightly like 1 meter (even the visual effect is bigger than the actual radius) and decreased values of other efects be more viable and less a niche spell.

I never used it. In fact, this spell along with the possession spell are the only things I always ignore when I choose this mastery. I’d rather max out the Liche and Ternion Attack/Death Chill Aura depending if I’m a melee character or not.

its ok when it works but its a massive skill point sink and spirit has many skill point sinks you should be adding to before even considering levleing other things...liche is so strong in this game, tension attack is great if you are a mage char or petmaster, deathchill messes enemies up or if you are a melee char it destroys enemy stats so you wreck them faster..

all those skills esp liche eats up a lot of skillpoints that idk if most ppl add to that esp since it never works on hero monsters or bosses the things you'd want it to work on with random mobs dying so fast you dont even bother using it anyways..

I tried it and as i said it's very good in certain situations but without impact in others that is why I did this but I had had this mindset too. I think it's because it was really bad before AE, ehm well mind control (possession) is still crappy and needs rework i think.

I reached Thebes and by then I had already maxed out liche king, termion was sufficient and deathchill is useless that early so I had not bothered. I had had a lot of skill points and it turned to be quite usefull. If I may ask why do you consider it being a skill point sink when you can be ok with only 1 point and the maximum is 6?

Doesn’t Enslaved Spirits wear off after like a minute?

it does, when then first mob effect wear off, immediate it die because surrounding mob will kill it.

so you have to keep doing the mind control the whole time to gather the troops, but due to the cap in -recharge it is not so much worth the effort anymore. simply a fully develop liche is the best.

i mean its ok 1 pointer skill but there are so many other skills you can be adding to and 32 into mastery eats up a lot of skill points and you prob will be spending another 32 on mastery number 2 and other core skills that vision of death will prob remain at 1 point for a long time due to other skills just being better overall esp if you grab a 2ndry which complements sprit pretty well..

and 6 points is a lot of skill points to spend on a skill like vision of death, it'll prob be better to add 1 point and later on get +4 all skills to push it up to close to the max you'd get without adding too many points...esp with liche tree, deathchill tree, and tension attack if staff user eating up skill points..

Well, the problem is one point is probably the best option because the more points you invest the longer enemies run away from you and therefore they slow down your progress. On high levels like 5 or 6 enemies can run that far away they 'forget' you attacked them and just stay somewhere else.
