What are Ideal STR, DEX for Different builds?
As the title says I am wondering what idea Strength and Dexterity values are like for certain builds.

I am a new player with a mid 30's Harbinger. So far I've been putting 3:2, STR:DEX into my stats.
I also have a mid teens Warden and Ranger, both have been getting 1:1, STR:DEX.

Are there critical values to hit? Is health important? At what point is it enough?

I know STR for all three increase damage, so it makes sense to keep pumping into STR.
DEX seems a little less important, increasing Pierce Damage as well as Offensive and Defensive Ability.
But health seems important to me as well. Once the masteries are maxed there's no more health gain (if I keep on as is).

The only thing I could find on the subject is a guide from Soma for reaching level 75 that suggested (in that context) to aim for 1000 Defensive Ability.
They had 445 DEX with a DA of 896 (with gear on), which seems like a huge investment to me.

I am just curious as to what others think. And if anyone has some guides or suggestions I would love to read them.
Thanks.

dex is worth investing because it helps you avoid being crit by enemy and also increase the pierce if you use spear etc.

nature and defense offer high enough hp even without investing in stat point, i suppose you will have hale items for all 3 so it helps in increasing str and hp.

i suppose 1:1 str dex until 1k da or 1.2k then put to str mainly and health if needed. i am doing a 1:1 conqueror and hopefully can slot in the star of ishtar soon.

it really absolutely depends on gear found and due to the extreme rng of the game you never know what you get and if you look at many endgame gear esp amulet and other things, some of them have crazy da boosts like +300-400 so 1000 is def possible with low dex but you should never build a char knowing you will find a couple gear with +300-400 to reach the point you dont have to worry about crits very much even if enemy has moves that lower your da when they hit you.

usually 1:1 gives your char the best chances of preping themselves for endgame then using up the quest stat gains way later on once you do find your gear (endgame gear) going 2:1 allows you to equip gear sooner but imo just use a hale ring or plato ring allows you to go more balanced until you see your endgame gear then you can remove the hale/plato ring and still have enough str or int for gear...

though sometimes hale or plato ring even in 1 slot might be really good esp since you can roll for another mod on the other part of the ring and you can attach a relic to it and it is so extremely common that you can find it in stores in under 10 min of resetting that you should have it by act 3 if you badly need str or int...there is no version for dex so increasing it every level helps a lot...

and once you finally finalize your build up, adding to hp isnt a mistake as that lowers your chances of dying and though +40 hp doesnt seem like much, it actually is and it fixes a lot of survivability problems later on esp once your da is really good or extremely good if you are hunting or dream which grant you da from skills.

In strength based builds I find the majority of my defensive ability comes from items. I can find even epic level items that give 100+ DA and a percentage boost. Even normal mode rings you can find in the store will give around 70 by the end. I mostly go high dex on builds that use poison, bleeding, and pierce damage, as it gives me higher damage scaling than strength.

I generally don't have much need for health since I'm into killing things before they can do much damage to me, having super high block chances to they don't damage me in the first place, and healing every time I hit so I rarely take high damage from anything then have healed it up by the time I'm hit again.

Basically attribute points are really hard to nail down on what you need due to how much items influence them. I can get hundreds of points of health from equiping a certain item, or a huge strength boost, or a huge int or dex boost, or a load of offensive or defensive ability. Then there's skills around that lower item requirements and items that also lower item requirements. Then there's determining which items work best with your build in particular, then there's determining if you want to go for more offense or defense in your build with the items you get.
