Buy a bow and equip it, get close enough to fire off a shot or two and then run. He'll follow you a little way but then turn back. Rinse and repeat until you bring him down.

Given you're L5 melee it's probably either that or you're going to die a lot trying to facetank him. You could always try strike and run tactics.

well, i just started the game, what level am i suppose to be?

L5 is about right, he's just pretty hard for a melee character,

As said his leash is quite short so you can attack and retreat until your health recovers and you're ready for another attack.

Yes, he has a banner that alows him to absorb damage and to increase his offensive capabilities. You should avoid fighting him under this buff, as you'll have a miserable time trying to kill him. Uh, you already did... Anyway, that's all there's to it at this point of game - wait till it wears off or lure him out of it. Oh yeah, he also has a stun ability, just keep that in mind.

I remember starting as a Defence character - and hoo boy was it a long fight.

1. When a mob drops a banner - run. Certain centaurs in Act I and Tigermen in Act III drop banners. Don't waste any time, run out of the effect immediately.

2. On a tough mob or boss that you have to run away from a lot, you aren't getting in a lot of hits, especially in melee, so consider using a bow or throwing weapon with some sort of DOTs on it like bleeding, poison, and life leech. That way you're doing damage while you're running.

I've fought him with a lot of different builds, but my tactics are always the same:
1) hit him with ranged;
2) run & chug a potion if you need to;
3) kill all minions who continue to follow after he turns back;
4) repeat until all minions are dead;
5) chug a potion, run up to him and hit him;
6) run out of any area effect zone with him following as you chug another potion;
7) stand and hit him, chugging potions as often as you can;
8) run when health drops to half & let potion work;
9) chug another potion as you run up to him & toe-to-toe, chugging potions as fast as possible.

Or you could get a bow with some damage adds (fire, lightning, poison, drain), which makes it all a LOT easier, though you still need to draw off & kill his minions 1st anyway, because killing them 1st makes the battle with him much easier.

With the new Ragnarok expansion, they gave us armor with GREAT new regenerate adds. You can build your regen to 50+ pretty easily, which heals you as fast as potions, though you still need potions if you toe-to-toe the boss minotaur. I can stand in a mob being hit all around and my health seldom drops.

first kill his friends, one by one and kith them during you heal up times. when you kill him in the end lure him away from his standard, without its aura he is easy to kill
shane May 30, 2019 @ 4:29am
He becomes a lot easier after you get battle standard.
Melex May 30, 2019 @ 11:13am
You can't tank all the dmg that a boss does to you unless you use skills (high level ones) or either you have good stats related to Defensive Ability and Shield block, anyways, the trick is always using potions, even when you are at full health when facing some tough mobs.
