It seems Dream Image from dream mastery is kinda useless besides of tanking mob for character with few active skill, the image just keep turning on and off aura, buff/debuffing, and retreat after hitting once or twice to a monster. I also found that the image will not cast a summon skill like wolf, CD, outsider, or ancestral warrior making it usefulness is only for tanking in pet build.

I think that have something to do with the image AI preferring to cast a skill instead of auto attacking. If it is the case then with character that have many active skill the image is more active offensively as it have many skill to choose to attack enemy. The image itself have 1920 energy pool at level 8 skill and with at least -45% energy item the image can cast a level 12 Energy Armor for you if you choose Rune as your second mastery.

Conclusion: Dream image is more useful for caster than wdm and pet build except for tanking.
