only console version, sorry but no support for local coop in PC version of the game, only LAN and Online (I can't understand why, tho)

no official support either. you are free, of course to rebind keyboard buttons to gamepad with certain tools, but it would be quite ugly in-long-term and barely playable
on a positive note, the game is in active patching and developing, so it might be that one day both local coop and gamepad support would be added, so you still can follow that game and maybe one day it will get a patch you were hoping for
Conan Exiles has a 2 player function where your computer is the host server that might work for you. You'd both need to have the game, but if you can get it on sale it's an ok building / solo / pve game.
There are also a few nice games to play with your girlfriend.
My girlfriend is not a gamer at all, but we both enjoyed playing these games with xbox one controllers on PC and Video projector.

also RPG, but definitely sucks to these two above, she didnt liked it. Graphics are outdated & controls are not so smooth like in others.

RPG, we finished it also, it's storyline is not so long (4 max players, we have 4 controllers for PC and we play sometimes with our friends)

Survival, it's in Beta for at least 4 years, but they made a lot of updates for COOP in last 2 month, we really enjoy it (2 max players, full controller support)
First player is male, and the second is female, so that's a great choice.
A way out - Unfortunately it's not on steam..
I will definitely take another look into Stranded Deep. Its been on the wish list for a while. I actually purchased Vikings Wolves of Midgard a long time ago, just never really checked it out. Thanks a lot for the suggestions, much appreciated!

That's awesome, I have grown a fondness for controllers. I have always been mouse and keyboard, but I have gotten used to them. Its so great to sit back and relax with a controller in front of a big screen. I wanted to make my own console, which is why I got into PC gaming in the first place. Some people understand this idea. I have confidence this game will eventually have the much needed controller support. Hopefully one day local coop split screen. There is nothing better than kicking back with your girlfriend and playing an awesome RPG split screen and it just works a lot better with controllers.
