Trapped In The Library

In the basement of the great library of the first city in Egypt I have managed to trap myself in the vault where the whatsit is, I managed to lure the huge bug and its accompanying smaller bugs out after it killed me a couple. Now I can't go back because the door is locked. It can't get back in.

Is this game over? I tried to load an older save, but apparently, there is only one saver character. Am I out of luck?

You can't go in to kill the bugs again after loading the new save?

OK, this time I got back in the nearest rebirth fountain, even though my character wasn't killed. But unfortunately I have to fight my way back all the way back to the vault. I wish they would slow down the rate these creatures respawn.

They respawn everytime you quit to menu and enter the game. This is done so that player can easily farm item and exp.

A little too much farming in my opinion. I'm trying to start a player from scratch, and run him all the way up to Ragnorak. I'm all the way up to level 19, and I've only made it to the first stop in Egypt.
