Why dont people use BATTER on the left mouse button?

Whenever my character has a defense mastery I end up using batter as my lmb because its aoe recharges fast and adds your shield damage on top of your weapon damage. I see a lot of wardens using takedown on lmb and templars using psionic strike on their lmb. Am I missing something that other people are seeing?

I feel you on that one, I use Shield Charge as my LMB when running with Defense if I don't have any other LMB ability (like Onslaught, Markmanship etc).

Batter works awesome way better than psionic strike from dream does way more damage and kills what it hits unlike psionic strikes eburn which hits 3 targets but for weak damge. not a big fan of shield charge as it can miss

To each their own. Psionic Strikes hit does alot more damage than Batter and from what the actual skill states, its not limited to a specific amount of mobs like Batter is so I'm not too sure what you mean?...

Only electrical burn is aoe. The strike itself is not aoe.

warden i keep sheild and spear charges as 1 and 2, with batter the rmb with just a basic attack lmb. never tested it but i don't know if weapon effects work with shield bash, but i still rather have a non mana draining attack (even if it's only slight) as the main attack, it's not hard to hold rmb if i want to just batter either

Yeah sorry, I wasn't clear. Psionic Burn does the AoE but Psionic Touch does nearly double damage on the 4th charge while Batter (not currently talking about its synergy) seems to look like it does a lot less. And to each his own really, you can use whatever skill works for you honestly.

Playing Corsair(rogue+defence), calculated strike is the obvious mouse1. Allso, batter can be good to withhold between three-target moments- or have ready when seconds matter and you need a way out.
