Celtic Plaid side quest
Quest needs dyes from places visited earlier. Can't figure out how you get those.

if you have an other char that has done the first 4 chapters just buy the dyes with them and put in transfer box, that is what I did. :D good luck

You can get those by visiting merchants from Act 1, 2 & 3, dyes are the coloured flasks in the milsciellanous tab (where you buy life potions).
The purple greek is sometime sold by Act 1 merchants,
The egyptian gold by Act 2 merchants,
and finally the asian royal blue from Act 3 merchants.

If you started a character as "accomplished hero", you can't accomplish this quest in solo (until you progress through the next difficulty), since you don't have access to portals from the previous acts.

Thanks to both of you. Got them. Turned out its not just any merchant in each Act. It was Sparta in Act 1, Memphis in Act 2, and Western Silk Road in ACT 3. n all the time I've been playing TQ never used or even noticed these dyes.

Bought same as @rchogan but bought purple greek from Parnas/Atens and it doesn't work...

Vendors have random dies and there are ways to reset the inventory. For example, I bought all dies from a vendor, teleported to another area, went back to the same vendor and he had a new set of dies.

Not sure what the mechanism of refreshing the dye selection is, a simple relog might work, or teleporting to multiple areas, but this worked for me.

I got the dyes with another character but I don't remember where I bought them. By the way the quest was OK.
I think that was before the last patch.

i honestly don't know what you ladies and gentlederps are talking about, but Greek purple outfit, Golden Loincloth and Royal Blue outfit cause no reaction from the quest giver

The dyes offered at each merchant are random each time their inventory is rerolled. You can just keep teleporting to the same place over and over until they have the one you want.

Corinth merchants, have dyes from ALL game locations, save Underworld. You need a lot of luck, tries and patience, though, to finish that quest by visiting Corinthian merchants alone, again and again.

I don’t know why, but this subquest did work properly.

First I bought the three proper dyes: Greek Purple from a merchant in Act I; Egyptian Gold from a merchant in Act II; Asian Royal Blue from a merchant in Act III. I returned to Glauberg and talked with the quest-giver. But she did nothing but give me her original pitch.

Second, following advice I found in the two threads here titled Celtic Plaid, I bought all three dyes in Corinth. To do that, I clicked the rebirth there, and reloaded the game until the two Corinthian merchants offered me the three dyes. (When one offered one, I bought it.) I returned with them to Glauberg, clicked the rebirth there, and spoke to the quest-giver. That worked. She gave me my reward.

I found out that the quest is mistranslated in italian, the girl asks for the greek "porpora" dye but the dye does not exist, you have to buy a "viola" dye. This is because they translated "purple" as "viola" in the greek act and as "porpora" in the dlc.

Ho scoperto che la quest è tradotta male in italiano, la tipa della quest chiede il porpora dalla Grecia che però non esiste, dovete comprare la tintura viola viola perchè l'hanno tradotta in due modi diversi.

same with polish translation. The girl asks for light blue (błękitny), when in fact she needs royal blue (niebieski, translated as just "blue" through the entire game). I lost half an hour just to figure this out :D

You can buy those at the stores of Corynthian (the first portal of Ragnarok) as they have dyes of each act of the game, I bought them there.

I read about the bug that if you buy them from the Act merchants from which they originate instead of from the Corinthian merchants, the quest wouldn't work. Just to test this, however, I bought the Golden Egyptian one from the merchant in Memphis (I already got the other two from Corinth, just couldn't get the Egyptian one to show up there) and that worked just fine to complete the quest.

Don't buy the golden Loincloth in Egypt, rather buy the golden Egyptian outfit.
