Enable Optional Roll-Overs

can anyone explain?
couldn't understand the explanation the manual gives and google brings nothing useful

I always thought 'ROLL OVER' meant was when you float over a item (wep, armor, ring) you get the info box for it along side the box showing what you have equipped.

I noticed that when disabled this option disables the pop-up over the mini-map button in the top-right corner (minimize/maximize the mini-map). I guess there should be some other similar effects.
