You are emotional right now. Calm down take a deep breath, watch a tips video on youtube. Roll your sleeves up and actually put some effort in. It isnt that hard, but you have to TRY
I finally finished it, but only but staying all the way in the back of the room, where most enemies don't spawn in. There, all I really had to worry about was the time grenades from Paul.
If the fight just had a better checkpoint system, I wouldn't be nearly as frustrated.
Or maybe if it was instead built as a fight between just you and Paul, instead of having him in the high ground protected as he throws time grenades at you.
Maybe I'm also just frustrated at the lack of closure. We beat Paul, saved Will, and saved time. That's a lot of closure, but there's still so much left on cliff hanger for a sequel that I don't think we're ever gonna get. Not after the success of Control and work of the upcoming Crossfire.
Heck, people have been asking for more Alan Wake, and that story is still not finished (unless the new Control Expansion answer that. I haven't played it yet, but I heard it's a crossover). At least Alan Wake got some DLC and Spin-offs to give us more, where as Quantum Break has nothing left after it ends.
Sorry for my rant. I am calm, just disappointed that we aren't gonna get much more, as I LOVE this game, and even enjoy its Live Action side-series. But there's just so much left intentionally that it feels empty.
First wave, the white suits, easy kills can be obtained by Dodge ram into them (they'll be knocked back) and focus shoot the head. Use only ONE dodge. Save the rest to escape. Avoid using Rush to kill them, as the finisher takes too much time, and you'll be targeted by Paul. Use Rush to escape instead. Escape is imperative here.
Second wave, yellow suits and the tank. Keep moving. Pick a direction again. The yellow suits are easy to kill. Shoot from behind the cover, empty a mag, and change cover. Never more. Never stay long. Don't get greedy. Move in on direfction. Once all of them are down, take care of the tank. Same tactic but this time, just pop a Shield and empty a mag, then move. That's about it.
the combination of new mechanic that's not explained anywhere before, easy to miss telegraph in the middle of a firefight, constantly getting spammed, which of course can hit you everywhere (boss needing line of sight? pff) and of course only affects you and not any of the other enemies is pretty horsesh*t.
however, easiest way is just use shotgun, bumrush everyone except the heavy (since you have to move constantly anyway, making all the cover and the way you fought the whole game before pretty irrelevant), nuke the heavy and that's pretty much it. there's even a new auto shotgun I've never seen before down in the pool (or just missed it, mostly used carbine or LMG).
don't forget shield staggers enemies when activated close and time rush allows you takedown almost everyone instantly.
50+ attempts on hard. Absolutely garbage.
maxed all the skills? mostly used dash and shield, if I didn't use melee takedown they just got 1-2 shotgun blasts in the face. on hard as well.
Using the carabine for head shoots on the bullet sponges.
What this game had going for it was the AI tactics completely destroyed by Sauromans Eye insta killing.
lost the carbine after a reload, was kinda pissed at first but it also forces you to stand still way too much. shotgun has much higher burst, and only the heavy is a bullet sponge (while also being slow and easy to deal with with time stop + unloading a full mag into him before moving on).
but yeah, that added mechanic is kinda bs at that point.
One guy literally just hid behind a forklift and he was fine. I don't get it.
Honestly, the combat and game play loop in this game are extremely terrible.
From the first fight in the game, I was like "Why am I shooting at these guys? Worst "Bring your brother to work day" ever. Then I was like, "Okay, the main character must be some sort of badass with PTSD or something?" But then you cant't use grenades and enemies all have 100% accuracy and they have huge health pools and you don't, and you can't throw grenades, and you can't aim very well... but you can stop time.
It's junk.
Man, keep moving. The blasts starts either at the back of the pool or/and near the entrance. You just need to run to the other side. The radius of the blast doesn't eveng go all the way, it only covers like 3/4 of the room. You can do it!
