The checkpoint system is so bad
Very late to the party and got this cheap so overlooked a lot of the flaws and was actually having an alright time with it, however after dying on a stupid bridge collapse scene and having my checkpoint revert to BEFORE fighting the armoured boss guy with the LMG I've just uninstalled the game and wrapped it up by watching the cut scenes on youtube.

Never thought this would be my experience with a Remedy game, especially coming after Alan Wake but man, you guys ♥♥♥♥ the bed with this

Some checkpoint decisions to set players back to after a wipe really are stupendously idiotic in games that use this lame save system. It's like the mission designer for that part of the game was having a crap day and they decided to mess with our heads :)

BTW. I have the Windows Store version and there's no support forum for that and in my second return to this game after patches I'm finding that none of the live action episodes are playing and all I get is a "Unable to stream" error. Are these episodes playing okay in the Steam version. I'm beginning to suspect the streaming service is down and the devs cannot be bothered to fix things or it has been abandoned completely.

I had similar experience, the final boss battle on medium difficulty would easily classify it as one of the worst I ever played. You have like three enemy waves to beat, and whenever you make a mistake you start from scratch. Not only that, they decided to replay that annoying movie introduction each time.
Took me like 15 tries to finally beat it, first few times I didn't know what to do at all, how to survive Serene's EMP :D. Next ten times I always made some stupid mistake, like too late press a button, or enemy sneaked behind me and made critical hit on me.

F#$@$#@ing annoying final boss battle.

Apparently it's borked for a lot of Steam users as well, from what I am hearing and seeing.

All of you need to git gud. I beat it on hard with no complaints.

And you probably like your wife to sodomise you from behind you masochist but it doesn't change the fact that the game's checkpoint system is broken and ♥♥♥♥

Actually that depends.
I mean, if there is absolutely no frustration in failing, there would be much less satisfaction in winning.

Like I said earlier, Dark Souls take it to the next level, but you shouldn't go that far. Just consider this as another experience.

Me too considered this annoying, wondering why couldn't they more logically set the checkpoint to the point when the fight starts, yet I don't think that it necessarily should have been made otherwise.

I'm only at the end of chapter 2, the amount of bugs I've encountered in this short time is unreal.

Unable to pick up a couple of chronon sources, checkpoints not triggering properly so I'm stuck and unable to proceed, the last straw was finishing off everyone at the end of chapter 2 part 2 and the gate was unable to open as a trigger did not go off after killing the enemies.

And let's not start on the enemies abilities to see through the walls.

I've only died twice on hard, both times I've died it has been due to the physics system going bananas when I've stepped on or knocked something.

I expected much more from this game.
