WHO WAS HATCH? [SPOILERS AHEAD]
Ok so I get that Martin Hatch was some guy from Africa that stumbled into a cave with a natural Meyer-Joyce field generator that let him time travel, and his motive throughout the game is to allow for the End of Time to happen so that the Shifters (like him) could take over as the new evolution of sentience (or something along those lines), but how the hell is he alive at the end of the game in the post-credits scene? It can't be the countermeasure that fixed him because it didn't fix Paul Serene or Beth Wilder. He got stabbed in the eye by Liam Burke so how the hell is he still alive? There must've been more to him then....or perhaps the natural cave time machine he stumbled onto also allowed him to travel further into the future than the others and what we see at the post-credits scene is a "past" Hatch in the future before he got stabbed in the eye by Liam and died.

Does anyone have any other theories? Great game btw. Very awesome and well-thought-out story and badass powers/gunplay (kinda wanted a little more though, but it's still awesome for the discount price I got it for).

He turned into a shifter. He's in a state of superposition and can't die.

He uses eye drops to stay out of zero state.

I thought that was just during stutters. Look at Dr. Kim he was a shifter as well and even when in stutter proofed environments he was a shifter. Why could Hatch retain his physical form when time flowed and could turn into a shifter in stutters? It made me think that he was just at the same level Paul Serene was where he was about to turn into a shifter, but the metamorphosis wasn't complete yet. The shifter logic seems to be inconsistent between Dr. Kim and Hatch. Thanks for your comment, though!

Dr Kim is actually "stored" in zero state containment - I think that's stated in an e-mail. How Hatch managed to change between a shifter and a chronon-enabled lifeform ;-) I don't know. Doesn't necessarily have to be the same Hatch - there are zillions of them. Another question - he joins Monarch in 2011 - that's before the fracture. So it's not clear how he manages to enter from zero state (unless he time-traveled).

Makes sense that Dr. Kim was a special case because he was being "contained" in that state for study.

I think due to Hatch being a shifter and a particularly skilled one at that, he could exist at all times, in all time lines simultaneously. So basically only one of a potentially infinite number of Hatch's got stabbed in the eye.

Getting into Rick and Morty territory I know.

Hatch joined Monarch in 2001, not 2011. That early on, he already knew everything that was going to happen apparently regarding the end of time and the countermeasure and the fracture, so he seems to exist across all times in some way as a Shifter.
