It only works when the B symbol prompt (Left mouse click for KB users) appears over the enemies heads.

It doesn't work after dodging at all, i.e tapping the LB button or KB key which is a Time Dodge, only during a Time Rush when holding it down and approaching an enemy. Doing the takedown requires a certain amount of the Time Rush bar (about 1/2 without the Multi-Takedown upgrade) and the prompt simply won't appear if you used too much of the bar up running at the enemy.

It's also only available on normal-sized enemies:: grunts, tech staff and strikers. The prompt doesn't appear for heavies or juggernauts.

oh, holy funk. I get it now. You gotta HOLD dodge button. Googled it because my country is trash and dumb to smoke when it comes to localizations. Ty you anyway, good sir, you led me on right path.

I had trouble with it, too. Then it suddenly clicked for me. I was doing what the prompts told me.... and it just wasn't working for some reason. Honestly you get so many abilities so quickly I was kinda having trouble remembering I had all of them.
and some of those saying that this game has mediocre combat... :) this game has crazy combat if you doing this ♥♥♥♥ right

I think that people just complain about everything nowadays. And this is coming from someone in the age group that does most of the complaining. The combat in this game is pretty nuts.... they give you so many different abilities that I'll go through an entire sequence and realize afterwards "Hey, I didn't even use abilities x, y, or z". Honestly, everything I've ever played from Remedy has been freaking awesome. I'm just sad that I can't get Alan Wake on the PC anymore.... have it on my 360 but didn't buy it in time for the PC. Perhaps I can get a physical copy somewhere.... but I think that means I won't be able to play the DLC.

Yeah, bro. You right. Remedy are godlike. It's like Kojima prod. They just too ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ unique.
