finally successor of warzone 2100?
Glad that devs tryin to revive the conception of player-made units. but after watching some videos, current implementation of vehicle editor makes me sad and frustrated. Why not to make something easy like this:

W/S/A/D is used to "fly" inside building area, TAB - opens parts list, Q/E/R - rotating parts in 3 dimensions, LMB - pickup part from list, CTRL+LMB on highlighted part - copy part, RMB - deleting highlighted part.

pretty native, isnt it?

also, after watching some videos i realized robots that using gatling cannons with bullets based on energy looking weird. why not to make gatlings consume ammo, and add to game "ammo box" module which provides extra ammo for units?

The design process is a bit different to what you are describing, but it's still quite simple - you just drag and drop new modules from the list onto connectors of already installed modules.

That being said, there are plans to streamline the designer further, as well as to introduce alternative control schemes.

As for the ammo - most of the weapons are ammo based, and when they run out they need to get restocked. There are currently no ammo box modules due to balancing issues. That might change in the future.

thank you for reply, btw it will be nice to see demo version including 1st mission of campaign and editor. for people who interested in game. also, community can help translate the game to many languages with online software localization management platforms like poeditor (which will attract more potential customers).

p.s. curiosity wins greedy and i tried editor by myself.
Really: for newcomer its frustrating.

Hunting for small red circle is annoying.
Not figured why some details removed by ESC button, some by DEL button.

hitting ENTER also not very good idea. i spent more time to move fingers over keyboard than designing first unit

Cant remove modules from hotbar (or not figured how to do that)
cant rotate already connected parts (or not figured how to do that). figured, but after detaching and rotating cant connect part back. (experienced this with adapter triangle part) It stays too low or to high to opposite attachment point.

Simple drag&drop with right hand on mouse while left hand controls camera and rotates parts is much more user friendly

also: need ESC button hotkey for game menu. (game lacks hotkeys).
Not found "active pause" button (game will be stopped but you can still give orders to units)

repair pad needs waypoint (like in factory)
also "3rd dimension" for building pad is confusing. why not just remove vertical line

wheeled units is too fast

will continue to keep you informed
if its makes sense to provide game feedbacks in 2k17 ofc.

Yes, some of the aspects you've mentioned are candidates for streamlining in future updates (including hotkeys for rotation).

The least recent used module gets automatically pushed out when the limit is reached.

Default Pause hotkey is P. Escape key has many implicit uses and cannot be used for specific actions. There are plans to add more hotkeys in the future.

"move craft to center" of assembling box button also would be nice.

new units from conveyor should receive "Hold" (this position?) order by default. Not "pursue"

any time when i install new weapon on craft it turned 180 degree

Things you mention indeed could be customizable in future versions (initial unit behaviour).
