Bad Things About Reigns #1
- Death by overeating; the king dies when he gets too wealthy (dont they learn?)
- Timers; increasing and decreasing certain resources causes you to hasten your actions. not enjoying the game.
- limited; ive played this for a few hours and theres not a lot of variety in cards. add more cards maybe?
- forced; you cant be a full evil king or a full saint. you always have to be balanced or one of your resources depletes (or gets too high). of course there are certain cards that help you when getting banktrupt or when people start to riot, but its still very forced...
- battle system; sometimes you get two of the same choices, which in my case were both passive. having no defense and no offense for that turn, the opponent killed me in one move.
- bugs; they will probably be fixed sooner or later, but i had bugs where textures wouldnt load. text missing etc untill you restarted your game. maybe a memory leak, i dont know.

what are the mechanics that youre annoyed by?

Honestly, I don't mind that anything you mentioned accept I do agree the cards get WAY to repetitive towards the end of the game.

My#1 pet peeve: The Dungeon is enough of the Pain in the but without the treasure chest with potions in them. If there were any one change I would reccomend it would to get rid of that mechanic, especially seeing as they make you go throught the damn thing successfully twice

I think Reign is more a "puzzle" than a simulation game. You need survive and balance the 4 powers regardless of what the choice really means.

For the move where you cant attack: This is a special move "Fervent priere" in french (fervent prayer in english ?). If someone do this move, the next ennemy move is inevitably "fervant prayer". Advice: When the ennemy defend, you attack. When he will attack, go defend.

You have more cards if you do your king goal but i think only the first "run" is totally original. Then yes this becomes repetitive.

what seb0 said. Its more of the puzzel/sim. you have to keep the kingdom in balance or it will cause a disruption in order

I think that the timers could have a max number of ticks per day, 3 or 4 I would say. If you play fast you still get an advantage but at least you don't automatically die if you are stuck in one of the longer dialogue loops.

The timers are the most annoying. Most recently, I began a crusade and the gem-in-the-vase was talking. But while I was trying to read, my people reached zero.

And yea, ditto the repetition. I've reached "the end" already and restarted. But on my previous playthru, I went thru at least five or seven kings without ticking off any of the goals. And all because I kept getting the same cards over and over again.
