does the game go forever?

nope i miss read it there is no clear sign of how long it goes but i do know it goes at least past 1998

Shortly after year 2000 I lost the game and it wouldn't let me continue. Said I failed to break a curse or something. On my second playthrough now.

the curse is refering to the devil's curse he did say his last visit will be in 1998 even though that doesnt add up to 666

No but it is a multiple of 666

I read somewhere else you can die of old age, so unless you can regain your youth in this game, it's not infinite.

the OP means in terms of the year not the king and yes you do die of old age the highest i got was 92
