I got through the whole game up until the final boss in about four hours no problemo. Now Ive spent about two hours trying to kill that ♥♥♥♥♥♥ and end up rage quitting everytime.
Any pointers?

shoot at it till its dead.

seriously though, on hard:
1. use a grenade launcher
2. if you are running out of ammo, consider changing the option that automatically switches your weapon on low ammo.
3. first form is pretty damn easy. Just run around him in a huge circle collecting pickups. If there's an attack coming towards you, it's telegraphed. Shoot the attacking part to make it retreat, or just dodge it, cause you're far away.
4. when regular enemies start spawning, just ignore them. It's hard and you're moving a lot, you likely won't die. Keep getting them pickups. With any luck and correct movement boss will kill them for you.
5. the third form with saws requires a change of tactics. I make a circle tighter. It's probably best to start the third form with as much ammo as you can gather and to have boss in the middle of the left or right half of the arena (because pickups).

generally it's a very easy target to hit, so your priorities should be:
1. staying alive (keep moving, and be sure to change both your x and y positions)
2. getting pickups
3. shooting in the general direction of the boss, most shots will hit anyway.

I spend most of the time looking at the character and keeping the boss only in my peripheral vision. There's no point following your grenades with your vision, and aiming isn't that important - the boss is giant and impossible to miss. The trick is to stay alive and stay moving long enough.

Notice how putting a lot of distance between me and the boss isn't giving me any advantage, cause he closes the distance immediately. Whereas running around him in a reasonably tight circle makes him move a lot less and makes the entire situation a lot more predictable.
