Honest warning about the game.

I have played on world 2, world 6 and then again with a fresh start on usa1. I finally just got fed up wth the game, because when it really comes down to it. When the rubber meets the road and you really need to win. Its pay to win.

There is no way anyone can say its not, because I can buy cards right now and instantly build up my castle the second its attacked, or card up flags if i need to build up my parish. Now you might say, "OH but you can time attacks and kill a carder". Yes, you are correct, but they then buy a charter right where you burned the last one down and instantly build the castle and village back to full. Hell, I can even instantly finish research. Not to mention that there are even more powerful cards coming soon. Sure one has to drop 100s of dollars on the game, but they will bully you and beat you to a pulp with their wallet. If you dont do what some of these rich people do, they can just whipe you off the map and, unless you are a rich person, You cannot beat them. Sure you can develop a list of cards over time, but you have to remeber that it will take you months to get what you need and it will take them seconds. By then you are nothing more than a memory.

I urge everyone to please not play this game. It will suck you in with the politics and village building then make you feel resentful later on because you choose not to blow tons of money on the game to win. I am sure I will get trolled, but its probably from those that are already carding.

Of all the games i have played this, by far, is pay to win. If you enjoy competitive pvp strategy this is not for you. Its all about getting epeen, bully politics from rich people, and blowing rediculous amounts of money to get the first 2. I might like to add that the company makes ♥♥♥♥ tons of money from this game thats almost a browser based game, and they do almost nothing to it except add more powerful cards. They could be updating graphics or adding new gameplay elements, but no they just keep raking in that money.

It's apart of the game, it's not hacking, I mean people who use more than one account are cheaters and the bottom of the barrel players, I was in a faction of carders called Win the Fight on World 5 and our motto was "Carders Anonymous"... I was not even the most serious player or carder, I played alongside the most serious though and talked to them in voice chat (Mumble/TS), planned attacks with them, used our stragetic resources together and we carded together to make things happen.

Besides money, that game ate so much time it's painful to think about how many hours we all killed ourselves up watching the map, moving resources around, selling resources, being broke in gold, farming gold, saving gold, moving gold around the counties, setting up systems with others to move gold and hide it in parishes, drama, drama I created, people fixing the drama, lots and lots of mail, even more discussion of mail on voice chat, setting up strategies for best castle attacks, castle defense, troop placement, configuring captain strategy, spending time communicating with others in voice chat in google docs precisely timing attacks with others, setting up attack orders, mass scouting, mass scouting attacks, sending mass reports to all of your hard hitters, carding attacks, carding resources, carding troop production, carding everything that involves anything that can be carded.... and so on...

I am going to continue being opposed to this game though, Firefly was by far the worst thing about this game, they do not care about the gameplay, they care about making money and continuing to find ways for you to give them more money... the sooner you figure that out the better. I don't even know why I continue to watch this thread, I hoped to warn others about the game, I hope some people saved themselves some long-term misery.

So all that happened maybe but the horror story that turned you against the game has not been included has it. Time > cards in SHK and that is a fact.

No, anyone could join the game and spend a few hundred and reset a bunch of players within a couple hours, but winning the world solo is probably not going to happen and this is where time and cards both come together. You're a cool troll and all but you're just not up to the task of providing a good argument. I guess you just haven't met the carders I've met.

I don't think you understand how much people spend on cards in this game. Thousands of dollars. Some of them are in the tens of thousands of dollars. You don't understand, so I am just going to leave your dumb argument in the ground and let you continue pretending like you know what you're talking about.

A better argument you've neglected to mention is faith, now if there was a dormant fake farmer guy just sitting around for the last 30-60 days, big ol CP with millions of faith and that dude decided to card heavy... he could probably take a king ship, most times there's some idiot who hasn't voted so the votes are just sitting there waiting for the perfect time, after that with some minor gold farming a serious experienced carder could destroy everything around himself. He could even get reset, pop back up and faith vote himself back into power and continue destroying/resetting players. The power of cards with large of amounts of faith is something to be feared. Even better yet, you decide to heavy excom this carder and spend thousands of faith pretending to help, then comes mr noobsalot who will raze or cap the village and free up a slot for mr carder who will gladly continue destroying you. I've seen it happen.

An even worse case scenario is a heavy carder multi-accounting heavy faith accounts and using them to destroy players, one of the huge downsides of this game because Firefly doesn't care about multi-accounting or I should say they do a terrible job at enforcing. Anyone with minor internet skills can get around the safeguards and good luck with reporting players, Firefly could care less, these multi-accounters give them tons of money.

I agree completely with OP, game is pay to win and the Devs treat their customers like mugs.

Anyone who says different clearly hasn't played long enough or at a higher level.

This game at the higher level of play is intended to promote behaviour that would get you institutionalised in real life.

So if you wish to be fast tracked into a mental hospital or die from stress related diseases then this is the game for you, I am not kidding this game should carry a health warning.

To keep your villages safe requires you to be online alot, unless you cheat by getting someone else to play for you whilst you sleep(bannable offense unless you pay).

Other players will watch your activity to know when you are offline so they can destroy/steal all you build whilst you sleep. Those who play at the higher level end up not getting enough sleep and the negative emotions this game invokes have IMHO already resulted in real deaths of players.

So if the idea of raising someones village so they really die appeals to you then join in, you will be in "good" company

New Players Out of the water players Old players Vet players.


New players: get razed,destroyed = rage and quit

Out of the water players: they might spend money,they might have 3 villages but in the end razed. = rage and quit and banging on the wall.

Old players : played for a long time, they can be duke or prince, have 10 or 15 villages, they destroy others for fun maybe, they act stupid maybe,But in the end = hated by everyone and will be attacked by crown prince untill destroyed. = Anger problems rage and quit.

Vet players : The oldest players of the game, feared by most, they are crown prince,have 30 or 40 villages or more.Have controll of parishes all the time.But in the end =

I left W5 at Day 945

I played for somewhere around 875-900 days on W5 ~2.3+ years
I was a bit inactive in the end though so take it as you will.

First of all, i know this thread is kinda old but so is the game.
Then i feel, you guys are just sad about the fact that you cannot win this game alone.
And i understand that, it is strange.
But look at this, i card heavly. Allright? I just admit that straight off the bat. Maybe used 10 cards every day for the last month. Heres the thing tho, in the grand sheme of things i am still a nobody.
Just like if i hadnt used any cards at all.
You get attention by doing certain things, Dont kid yourself guys, there is another player on the other end and he is most likly not mentally retarded so expect some seriously nasty stuff from them. ie: attacks coming in the moment you logged off. Yes they are watching you, just like you are watching them... Duuuhh.
Also i would like to add that if you start in a allready developed world you will allways be a nobody, no matter how many cards you play so imo it is more about beeing early and concistant in a certain world. OR as some have said befor if youi cant use cards, Be early & concistant then you need friends, lots of friends. My faction is made up off weak players that dont card mostly all along but our combined power / points rival that of the serious card clans that want to take over the world. Simply because, if you are creating a clan that is for the elite etc and all need to card heavly to even earn a spot, you just dont get that many people asking for one. The day i opened my faction i nearly maxed out with slots.
Because there are SO many people out there that just want a place to stay without and some safty.
Make your own faction and crush everyone.

So, lets recap. I use many cards but still cant do ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ alone.
My Faction does NOT card heavly but bceause of shere numbers is able to compete with the biggest of factions in the world.
Further more you can craft alliances with other houses or factions.
Only an idiot would go to war against a stronger house / faction.
A wise man would marry them, if you know what i mean. for example pay them to leave you alone, or give them an area for leaving you alone.
You want to play? Well then get in line, you are not the biggest fish in this game's ocean and you havnt got the slightest chance of becoming one unless you play at least 2 - 3 worlds for a long time.

With all that said i do agree that this game has some pay to win elements that are downright silly, for exmaple the building time cards. Especially for castle buildings. Or the ''finish this research instanly'' cards.
One last thing i would want to add is this, i feel most if not ALL of you dont realize what kind of money one would have to invest into this game to do the insane things mentioned befor.
Yes, someone can buy endless research points with gold and then justt keep buying ''Finish this research'' to get all research done within a week.
Yes they could, but for me to even do this kind of thing once would take about 20 $. Just to buy lets say 2 -4 points and to finish that research intantly. 20 $ bucks please. So you go do the math if you can, btw it gets more expensive everytime you do anything in this game.
If you think that people are just overpowering you buy playing more cards and more cards the best thing to do is lay low and let them bleed out.
Everyone only has so much money to spend, there is a limit for anyone.
Just make sure not to attact the attention of the strongest players in the world but then again, that would be your own fault.

PS: the fact that people can be removed from the game by losing everything is part of the game.
If it didnt work this way peopple would be stuck in worlds with nothing but a tiny village that the enemey has left behind because you have been damage to such an extent that you are no
longer able to compete. THen you start a new world with cards, friends and knowlage from the last world!

Dont exepct to log in like into CoD and to be super awsome.
Thats now how it works even if you payed money.
