SK requires steam to be in online mode?

i have turn off the firewall, restarting pc, modem and steam so many times. its not helping.
yet i still able to play another multiplayer game online.
=..= please help me, i had bandits to be crushed. lol

Same here, I used so many methods I can find online, delete local.txt, verify cache file, I even reinstalled the game, nothing works.

It only seems to happen to me when my computer shuts down while playing.
It's happend to me before, i just waited and it fixed itself.

if i remember.. before the error my pc got a hard shutdown..
how long's your wait ?

I forget, it's happening to me again because we just had a storn and we lost power, it's probably got something to do with the fact the game still thinks you're still logged in.

Same issue here and I just installed the game. It kicked me out the web site portion and I had to relog in, but still doesn't work. Hopefully they fix it soon. :)

Same here. For the last several days, when this happened, I went into Task Manager and killed the Steam.exe process. But even that isn't working now...

Just found a quick way to fix this problem, delete the local content from steam and to make sure everything is gone go to the directory "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common" and delete the Stronghold Kingdom folder. Reinstall the game and it should work again. If all else fails go to "http://www.strongholdkingdoms.com/#" download the game from there and sign in with your email, hope this helps everyone here!
