Vacation mode only for paid accounts
Fyi to any who don't know already: There is currently no vacation mode available for non-coin / non-paid accounts. You must pay to use this basic feature to protect your account while away, sick, or unable to login to the game to play.

You can score 7 day premium tokens in game giveaways, that's how I was able to spend Christmas 2013 away from the game.

Not really a realistic solution, but it IS within the realm of possibility.

I plan on buying the 30 day tokens. It's basically a price of a coffee at starbucks or a burrito from a mexican grill.
