Not sure about it.
I have seen posts where players with Windosw 10 said that they had problems running Crusader 2 (which uses the same engine as Stronghold 3). I myself still have WIndosw 8.

I guess FireFly are best to answer this question.

Just ran it on Windows 10 with an ultrawide monitor. So it does work.
Now whether the game is worth running is an entirely different question...

Thanks for the info. I'm watching for a really good sale. If I can get it for less than $10 I won't mind the glitches. I just like building the castle anyway.

The game won't start for me at all in Windows 10.
I click to start, and it says that it's starting... and nothing happens, ever...

I've fiddled with Graphics drivers, compatability and such and nothing makes it work.

Interesting. Anyone have any thoughts on this?

So am I correct that in SH3 you can build walls at any angle and place b uildings (or at least some of them) and any angle? This kind of freedom to build is what really interests me about the game. But if its that buggy maybe its not worth it. Crusader 2 sounds like it's far less glitchy but does it have the ability to build walls and/or structures at any angle you choose?

I have no problem with SH3 and Win10. I just get a bit depressed when some soldiers glitch again :calm_creep:

The real question is....Why do you want to play it, you want to get it out of your system?

You can build a pretty castle, but unlike the other games you never really have an army.

Yeah. I hate the building cap (150) and the soldier cap (~200?).
And when building walls it sometimes just makes you angry because you don't see a reason why the ♥♥♥♥ the area should be blocked. It just feels like a step back from stronghold2.

crusader 2 ai cheats like no other AI in stronghold history. (Crusader 1 AI did not cheat, spawn units/buildings from mid-air without requisites) If youre a pve type of player dont get your hopes too high, since a stronger ai means an ai that cheats more unlike the old shc ai. pvp might be somewhat ok though.

The game doesnt run well on any O/S.
