This is maybe the best cosmic horror game

I feel a tremendous foreboding unease anytime I am in one of the more open areas, not too dissimilar to when I think on how grotesquely large the planet Jupiter is.

Which i think really amplifies the whole thing, I dont really think the devs were planning on making a "scary" game per se and it probably isnt particularly scary to most people, which is exactly what makes it more eldritch to me, nothing here is particularly hostile or "cruel" so far, just crushingly and suffocatingly neutral and indifferent.

there is also acrophobia/fear of heights at play here which i feel more people could relate too but its the infinite expanse that isn't even dangerous what does it for me.

the vague familiarity of the more "natural" looking things furthers this vibe also, strange low poly birds fly off, and the trees and their "fruit" cubes, which make a...sloppy sound when dropped, like they're actual fruit.

this is all positive btw its making me sick in a good way, love this stuff.

Also the God Hand might be hiding on any corner here... (if you know you know)

You should try Recursive Ruin then, a game where the universe contains, and is contained in, itself.
