Tips if you're having motion sickness
Some people do experience motion sickness when playing Manifold Garden. Here are some tips that can help:

1) In the "Settings" page, under "Gameplay", you can change the gravity changing motion. The default is the "S-Curve" (it starts slow, speeds up, then slows down). Try changing it to "Instant". This instantly teleports you to the new position and orientation. A lot of people find this helpful.

2) Try adjusting the FOV. This will depend on your own preference and how far away you're sitting from the screen.

3) Make sure the reticle is enabled. It is enabled by default but can be disabled in the menu. Having the reticle in the center can help give you focus and a sense of being grounded.

William, thank you for at least considering the issue of motion sickness which FAR too many developers ignore.

However, none of these settings worked for me.

What would probably help, if you're able to implement it, is a setting which keeps the view fixed on the exact same point you're looking at while changing gravity. So for example if you walk towards a vertical wall and stare at the wall, then change gravity, you'd then be staring at what is now the floor.

Yes, you'd have to move the mouse upwards after each change of gravity but that mild inconvenience is better than nausea.

Is this something you could implement please?

We'll give it a try.

My initial thought is that it'll be a bit tricky as we'd have to take control of the camera during the rotation movement. Currently we don't adjust the camera, so it moves with the "body" of the player. However, with the technique you suggested, we would rotate the camera counter to the rotation of the body.

We'll look into implementing it. Before we add it to the menu, we might just add a debug command to enable it via the console, and let you know about it. If it helps, we can then make it an option in the settings menu.

I felt motion sickness during playing demo so I am reluctant to buy it, but I think I will give it a try thanks to your tips.

Were you ever able to implement this option, please?

At first, I did also experience motion sickness. A very helpful low-tech tip is to pause for a moment and focus on a point outside of your monitor (your room, outside window etc.) for 10 seconds while playing the game.
Anyway, the game is very intense and immersive so it also feels as a level of experience that I rarely find in games, which is a good thing in some way?
