60,000 Wishlists, I can't believe it!

When I started working on this project back in 2019, I would never have expected it to get this kind of support. I'm incredibly grateful to all of you, all of this is still a bit surreal for me!

I'm working really hard on fixing the final bugs, balancing all the abilities and bosses, and most importantly doing a lot of testing.

I can't wait to get the game into your hands in only 12 days!

Will demo progress carry to release?

See title. Maybe a silly question, as I beat the first boss and got partway to the next, but figured I'd ask since I will simply wait for full release if progress will not carry. Unrelated, but I'm glad for demos as I probably would not have gotten the game otherwise. Oh, and I didn't see how much the game will actually be? Maybe I missed it....

Good news! False Hero is coming one week earlier!

Since development is going really well, Ytopia and I have decided to move the release date one week earlier.

This will give False Hero a bit more space regarding other releases and sales, and get the game into your hands sooner!

Demo Patchnotes v26.8.15

Hi everyone!

Only one more month until release! I'm super excited and working hard to get everything finalized and ready for release.
I have been adding and changing a few things, so I wanted to release this patch to bring the demo up to date.

Updated UI

One of the biggest changes you will notice when opening the game is the new Main Menu. The beautiful cover art was drawn by Edgar Gomez, I love how it turned out so much.

I also reworked the inventory screens.
The Combat Art screen is now way more readable. The equipped and unlocked Arts have moved more to the left and increased in size, and the Combat Art stats are now displayed in easy to read stat-cards.

The inventory is now split into 5 horizontal sub-folders instead of one large list. This makes it way easier to find an item you're looking for since you don't have to scroll through the entire list. (Thank you to everyone in the community who proposed this idea!)

The Equipment menu also received some slight re-ordering to make it more beautiful.

Boss Refight Difficulties

For all of you who are looking for a bigger challenge: Boss-refights now offer two additional difficulty levels. These scale the bosses similar to how NG+1 & NG+10 will scale them, and can be accessed directly from the boss-refight menu.

I have also replaced the previous difficulty system with a more simple plug-and-play solution that offers 3 difficulty presets. (Recommended, Easy, Very Easy)

Polish language support

In one of the last updates I mentioned that there are a lot of polish players. As a result, support for polish language has now been added!

Added new difficulty options to the boss-refight mode
Replaced inventory folder buttons with a horizontal section-selection to reduce time spent searching for items
Added Polish translation
Added optional automatic selection of most recently acquired items in inventory
Added option to disable new-item exclamation-marks
Added option to force Xbox or Playstation icons if automatic controller detection fails
Added option to adjust camera follow smoothness during lock-on

Balancing

Scroll of Discipline no longer reduces damage dealt
Slightly reduced Flamethrower damage

Bug fixes

Fixed a bug where enemies would not attack if the player stood too close to a wall
Fixed a bug where sometimes the game would display an endless black screen when loading a savefile
Fixed a bug where exclamation marks would sometimes not show for scrolls or clothes
Fixed a bug where the lock-on indicator would jitter at low fps
Fixed a bug where the player sprint animation would continue when healing in swamp-water

Misc

Elevator buttons now activate instantly, instead of requiring the player to stand on them for a while
Replaced difficulty settings with a preset-based system
Reworked Combat Art-ui to look less cluttered
Made new-item exclamation-marks stand out more
Added NPC-icons to fast travel-menu to make following questlines easier (mostly important for the full game)

Constant stutters even on lowest graphics settings

Lowest graphics, 4gb texture streaming memory, and even making the game down to 480p doesn't help. It has something to do with loading assets. It feels like it's constantly loading in new things for areas I can't see. Latest nvidia drivers. Only started in the areas after the Ignorance boss fight, but it just got worse and worse. My GPU/CPU/RAM were not maxed or anything. I was getting spikes though in GPU usage every stutter. Not sure what else to say. Game is fantastic but I had to stop playing because...

LOVE THIS - Please add a female body option

I had an absolute blast with this demo, I cannot wait for it to release!! I really like how this takes the souls pvp technique of chaining different weapons into each other for reliable roll catches and frame data and turn it into it's own full combat system. Really well done! I would really love an option to pick a feminine body type for the player character's "possessed body". In a game where you're already playing as a possessed husk it doesn't really make a difference if the husk body is male or fema...

Why the f**k don’t you allow us to remap the default WASD controls? Is that really so hard? Yes, people who use different controls do exist. But apparently nobody gives a sh*t. Great. Well, then f**k you instead of my money. What else can I say?

problem loading a save

the demo is really fun! i went as far as the third robot thing and had to stop playing for a bit, so i saved and exit. however when im back the save file is there but it only giving me a black screen. no complain on my behalf as i had my fun, just thinking i have to let you know!...
