Questions about Absolver Downfall
Hi.

My experience with this game was with in alpha/beta (i don't remember) and i didn't follow de updates. Now im again interested in the game and i want a answers because i dont see recent reviews with the info that i want.

1. - I only interested in PVE solo/coop. Can I play without PVP?
2. - Is the server stable in west europe?
3. - (This is important) Is the update "downfall" at the same level that the trailer seems to promise? This is the reason why I am interested.

Thanks a lot if someone respond me.

if you are only interested on the pve side of the game, i am afraid you will get bored of it rather quickly.

even if you want to gather all moves and all styles yourself, and grind the downfall 3 dungeons to reach max gleam level, it won't take you more than 10-15 days, depending on the hours you put in daily, of course.
so maybe less, maybe more than 10-15 days, but it will be around there.

pvp is what this game is all about.
so, if you are no fan of pvp, you'd better skip this game.

PvE does exist. There's a short story mode. It took me about 16 hours to get through the first run, but most people it's more like a 4 or 5 hour run. I've heard of people making it in around 2 or 3 hours, and experienced players going back to speedrun can do it in around 20 minutes (last record I heard specific numbers for was 23). There's also rematch fights with several bosses, but those are locked behind PvP, which is kind of annoying. Also, the main boss fights are instances and solo-only - you can't co-op them. But you can co-op other boss fights in the open world (and all of Downfall).

There is only one EU server for the whole of Europe. It's pretty stable, though.

Downfall is endgame/post-game PvE content. You can solo it or co-op with up to 2 friends (total 3 players), much like the main open world experience. There are 3 tiers, which provide different challenges (progressively harder areas, but the boss difficulty is somewhat dependent on your build, rather than being a linear progression). The maps for it are procedurally generated, but with a fairly limited set of pre-made "rooms" with randomised entry/exit points, enemy spawns, and objectives in each area. It keeps it fresh enough not to feel totally grindy, but doesn't make it feel as expansive and varied as you might be hoping.

Personally, I play both PvP and PvE content, and have recently spent a *LOT* more time in PvE, but it's not the most involved game for it so if you're unsure, I'd recommend doing some investigation into things, looking up streams when you can find them, and that kind of thing.

At the current price, I'd say it's probably worth it just for PvE, but for most people, the full price of the game isn't suficient to justify buying it without any interest in the PvP elements.
