You need to use it when the attack is about to hit you, and when it hits you it gets blocked completely.

But what's the button for it?! Do i just press 'block'?

You're better off going another class, though.

Khalt, IMO, is the weakest right now, mainly because you'll end up in situations where all you can do is eat an endless barrage of punches as windfall and forsaken suffer little to no stamina penalty with combos fast enough to become an endless barrage.

Plus, khalt is the only one whom's ability is unable to counter attack. Where as forsaken and windfall have the ability to execute their dodges/parries and immediate counter attack, khalt actually leaves themselves open to another immediate attack after, rendering the block useless.

...also to answer your question, there's a specific button for it that, for keyboard, I don't know. The tutorial that you run through in the beginning should show you. For controller, it's your right stick.

Interesting thanks! Do you know what the button is called on the control list? I can try to find it there

Moving the Mouse(I think), Right Stick is defensive skill. (Kalht is Omni-directional, which means it works in any direction you move the stick and against any attack, except breaking attacks)

Kalht ignores stagger animation in return for taking temporary damage and the ability to counter attack if you're fast enough (which makes Kalht extremely hard to use). You get the Health by doing damage back to the opponent, if you get hit without blocking/defense action. You will lose the Temp health.

It's the right analog stick pushed in any direction while targeting an opponent.

you flick the mouse downwards if you're using mouse and keys.

>windfall and forsaken suffer little to no stamina penalty

They do. It's like nobody realizes that dodges and parries give you a stamina regen buff. If you're facing a windfall, they will punch themselves out if you let them. If you attack them and they use their ability dodge, they get like 5 attacks worth of stamina back pretty quickly.

kahlt is a very slow playstyle and very defensive. Absorb is very dangerous to play with because you take the damage, but can gain it back if you wait, or land attacks to gain more hp back; But, if you take damage before you regen all your health back, you lose it all, and take the damage from the attack that just hit you in addition to the lost health you were trying to gain back. The idea is, you block enough to learn your opponents deck and wait for the big wind up attack (that doesn't have bypass the absorb ability, I think the attack property looks like a broken shield symbol in the deck builder, and when the attack is being done, it looks like the arm or foot is covered in lava) to use absorb on, then punish their recovery time with a quick jab or 2 to gain your health back. stamina management is a lot more tight with this combat style because absorb doesn't give you any additional stamina like the other two styles do when successful.

As far as the button, I'm not sure what its called in the menu, but its the same button you would press for using your combat styles unique ability. On the controller its just moving the right thumbstick in any direction unlike the other two styles where you need to flick it in the direction you wish to parry/dodge.
