Stance keybinds
Hello !

So the buttons to switch stances are E, Z, Q and C.

Is there a way to change that? It's extremely uncomfortable.

I find the stances just odd, just by playing the game with mouse and movement + dodge\block i didnt feel the need of changeing stances manually

I understand, but if you have an AZERTY keyboard the "Z" and "Q" buttons are for "forward" and "left", so this is unplayable.

I need to change the stance keybinds aswell. Especially Z because of my german keyboard.
Couldn't find a config file or anything to change it ...

i know where you can adjust the keybinds in input file. Just go to search in explorer and type %appdata%, then go back one folder to local > absolver > saved > input (open with notepad) normally u should be able to change controls over there. However the notepad file for me is empty which is normal until you change controls in the game itself then it normally updates the entire input file so you can adjust. unfortunately its not working for me but maybe it will for you like it should work in every game

That's how I did as well in most games I had issues with keybinds, but here the input file is empty for me as well.. Surprisingly! :/

after reading what you said i fear it may have been hard-coded in.

Hopfully this thread gets enough bumps since more keybinds would be prefered.

honestly i would love to be able to play with keyboard only... i have a mouse with side buttions that are keyboard inputs and it would be much nicer to have the dodge directions mapped to actual buttions not just moving my mouse

So if the Dev's read this,

Please let us bind the stance change directions, and the right analog stick /mouse movement into key binds

I'm sure the devs will have this planned for a future update. As far as PC controls go, the game's FAQ says that a gamepad is highly recommended, and I recommend one as well.

i hate this whole 'gamepad recomended thing'

personaly i feel comfertable with mutiple styles of inputs

after testing out the game controls i can safely say that keyboard and mouse is my desired choice to play this game. the inputs feel way more natural to me.

the only thing that will take a little bit of getting used to will be moving the mouse when using the avoid style.

having Single key inputs for changing stances feels way better imo. and the keyboard and mouse layout is less cluttered for the control scheme.
if the dev's were to add in the dodge inputs as individual keys i would be sold on keyboard.

for a simple diffrence comparison,

Right stick on a controller does camera/avoid-parry-absorb/stances/change lockon targets
on keyboard most of these are split up into their own functions.

QEZC - each set to a stance
Mouse move- camera/avoid-parry-absorb
Scroll wheel - change lockon targets

^ to me this is the winning diffence that makes the keyboard and mouse feel more smooth

Even now in december this problem is not fixed. With a german keyboard the Z and Y keys are exchanged and therefore it is nearly impossible to get into Z stance.
If would be really great, if you could decide the keys by yourself or at least get the option for a germand keyboard.

Hi,

We apologize for any frustration the current key binding options may have caused. We are currently planning improvements for keyboard and mouse playing, as well as key binding options for controllers. Unfortunately, we do not have an ETA on these yet.

Thank you for your patience, we'll be sure to let everyone know as soon as we have more info.

you really shouldn't even use those in combat
