Co-op Play

I can't seem to find the structure to this game. The Steam page says "online coop", but the last 2 reviews I've read say nothing about this.

From what i can tell it's all arena-based, with a small single-player story?

Can anyone explain to me the deal with multiplayer, specifically the coop aspect?

from what i can tell by playing it, you are just dropped into a world after a cutscene and you run around the map fighting npcs, and beating bosses. up to 2 random people will spawn in your game which they may help you, ignore you, or attack you. You cannot seem to turn off this multiplayer aspect but it is nice since most of the time they tend to be more helpful than not.

You can turn it off in the menu when you log on. Its an option for offline play

I just forgot if it right at the bottom of the main menu or in the settings From the main menu

You can invite a friend to join you in the PvE areas of the game, but they're pretty short overall. Most of the meat of the game is the PvP combat.

I played with my friend all morning. Just go to an altar, go to social and invite a steam friend. You can have a party of 3.

Guess I'll try to find my coop need elsewhere. Thanks for the help guys.

It's also possible to create a party from people you accounter in the game.
You got to get close to the other player and use the Coop emote. This offer the other player in front of you to join your party.

With that said, as there is no Chat system, you can't "request" a general party invitation of any sort. It's a world without any voice (void of discussions).

That would be fine if the coop had some meat to it, but everything I read says the "story" mode isn't much of anything.
