PS4 Controller skipping up and down inputs (SOLVED)

Hello, It seems like both my PS4 controllers act a bit buggy.
For one when i try to navigate the menu and press down or up i scroll past two options at a time. Second, when looking at the button descriptions in the bottom left I believe while in a menu. Where it shows X for select and O for back etc, it often flickers in and out from being a X or a PS4 input to being a A or Xbox controller image.
I've tried reconfiguring my options in steam big picture.
Tried starting the game in and not in steam big picture mode, same problem.

(SOLUTION)
Start the game in big picture and make sure the option to bring up the steam menu when you hit the main guide button is oon in your config. In game I hit the main ps4 button to bring up the steam config options menu that looks like big picture. I scrolled down to the steam controller config support and unchecked the box. WALAA! easy fix!!

Yeah, you have to press very faintly on the analog and it's annoying. I'm gonna try it with DS4 and see what happens

Look here. It's a working "fix". Although it requires you to mess with global configuration, not just on a per-game basis. Tbh, it's quite a mess right now.

My PS4 cotroller doesn't work without DS4, but game see my controller and show me PS4 buttons. Don't know what to do, i want buttons from PS4 instead xbox when using ds4

Hey i figured it out! In game, hit the main ps4 button to bring up the steam configurations in game. Then turn steam controller config support off. Walaa!

this worked.. i just disabled enable steam input for playstation controllers. thank you.

When turning "steam controller config support off", the DS4 controller straight up doesn't work at all, except some "options", but not in game.
The problem is - missing inputs from time to time through DS4 in random games (not a tech issue, checked on different pads and on the different ports and cables)
