Staff combat?

I was looking at this game, and while I think it looks fantastic, I was hoping for more weaponry than just a sword. Low and behold one of the screen shots on the front display a character holding a staff. Looks like a short Jo, and I'm hoping somebody knows if its in the game or not? Are there staff weapons? Are there nunchucks? Escrima sticks? Or is it just swords?

Swords and wargloves (aka "battle mittens") are the only weapons in the game on release.

Staff weapon type is going to be added later, in a free update.

They may be more weapon coming too, staff is the only confirmed "we really want to make it happen" weapon the devs have talked about as far as I'm aware, they are open to suggestion tho, so feel free to give them yours on http://www.sloclap.com/forums/forum/suggestions/ to have a better chance to reach them, they seemed to be totally absent of the steam forum so far.

I'm just hoping they will add the Tonfa, I know it will most likely never happen but I want Tonfas more then anything.

As someone who LOVES 'The Raid' I would very much like to see Tonfas added as well. :D

Lets just hope and see if they will add this underrated weapon in the game. It's not underrated in marital arts though. :<

Everyone just likes their swords, bō, and pole arms in games. I hardly see games introduce tonfas into their gameplay, so it would be amazing to see it added to absolver.

Currently there are swords and war gloves to be used beyond your bare fists. We'll look into adding more weapons post-launch but it's too early to start discussing what those may be.
