That's generally why people leave these big companies to make their own games.
http://www.dictionary.com/browse/former?s=t
Now that we've established that... you are certainly entitled to your viewpoint on the matter. The thing is you aren't punishing Ubisoft. Ubisoft couldn't give two ♥♥♥♥♥ if you buy this game. Employees change companies all the time or even star their own. That has been the case for several Indie game companies.
Again, its your money and your decision. Just don't try to justify it here because, let's be honest, you don't really have a leg to stand on here.
Whenever one of those 9000 employees doesn't like his/her life at Ubisoft up to the point of staying there or whenever Ubisoft slack them off because of *whatever reason*, those move on into other group/companies. There are also some that are "head hunted" for their talent and taken directly from Ubisoft's employment. Whenever it's not a drop in HR, Ubisoft replace any people moving out in a matter of weeks max. It wouldn't be exagerated to count the actual "Ex-Employees" from Ubisoft to amount around at least 7000 to 8000. Some have worked years and some have worked months before moving on for whatever reason.
(Ubisoft's probation period is "at least" 6 months within which you can get thrown out for any reason. There are cases of 8 months probation periods.)
As a matter of fact, I have read description of the employees of approx. 120 Game Development companies around Quebec (province in Canada which includes Ubisoft Quebec and Ubisoft Montreal) and only 1 out of 8 businesses doesn't have at least 20% of its "development" employees with experence from Ubisoft. (Can be a 3D artist, texture artist, programmer, audio artist, etc.)
Are you playing and loving World of Warcraft or StarCraft 2? Guess what? Some of the 3D and concept artists working on those 2 games came from Ubisoft!
The main thing about game development is that it's a real mess of ex-employees moving left & right none-stop until ones find a place they can "live with". It's a circle really hard to enter, but once inside you can work at Ubisoft then switch to Square Enix and then end up at DICE or Blizzard within less than a decade.
There are many sources possible, but the one mostly easy to "search" is LinkedIn.
As a matter of proof :
https://www.linkedin.com/search/results/people/?facetCurrentCompany=%5B%225329%22%5D&facetPastCompany=%5B%222528%22%5D&keywords=Ubisoft&origin=FACETED_SEARCH
Those are the results of all the CURRENT employees at Blizzard that have past experiences at Ubisoft. ;)
=EDIT=
You got to log-in to see the list.
I did a quick search just for some statistics and LinkedIn return 16,385 results for individuals who have, at least, past experience at Ubisoft. Currently, 9111 of those are considered at "currently at Ubisoft". That's a 7274 in difference which, if we avoid anormal situations, should be the number of ex-employees at Ubisoft who, at least, has a LinkedIn Account.
=EDIT AGAIN!=
Hey! I just looked up for something amazing to know.
At least 6 employees at Naughty Dog has worked at Ubisoft in the past!
At least 7 current employees at CD PROJEKT RED (on the Witcher series &/or Cyberpunk 2077) has worked at Ubisoft.
If this continues... anyone who boycott every games that has an ex-employee from Ubsoft will end up only playing indie games! Hahaha. (I'm not making fun of anyone. Just stating facts and reacting to them.)
