3D Outrun on Nintendo 3DS is amazing!

Has anyone else played it? I got hooked and can't stop playing. The 3D works very well on it (pretty much the only game I use 3D on). It has a special mode that runs at 60 FPS and has 4 unlockable car upgrades/paint jobs. Once you beat special mode you unlock the original arcade mode.

Best $5.99 I've spent in a while! Their other 3D Classics are good as well. On Nintendo 3DS eShop only as of now.

Not 2006, but a version of the arcade original from 1986

I intend to pick up the game on 3DS, but the New Zealand EShop still lacks the game, so until it releases, nothing I can do. Sucks for me.

That does suck. I think Japan has a retail version of the 3DS classics which include Outrun. You might be able to import it if you don't want to wait.

A cart version of those classics would be great though. I already own several.

Picked up the american eshop version a few days ago. Fantasic port. Probably the best port outrun's had in years.

You all should check out Cannonball Outrun for PC. It is the best PC version of the original Outrun arcade game. 60 FPS, tons of options.

Late to the party, but I second this: the 3DS port of the game is amazing. The 3D effect is superb, as it is on every Mega Drive/ Genesis port released by M2.

I got the PS2 collection with a version of Outrun now. Not as good as the 3DS game, but still fun.

Is this the Sega Classics Collection? I thought that had some 3D rendered version of the original Outrun arcade game. I remember a lot of people disliked it because it was not the original but heard it was decent.

Yeah, the Sega Classics Collection. Mostly got it for Virtua Racing.

Just a shame the PAL version missed out on one of the games (Alien Syndrome).
